You should actually make your own custom crossing bell for it as your final project with it!

Oh AWWWSOMMME!, and a real bell too. Love the sound those mechanical ones make. As with the fire alarms you can get electronic ones too but they sound so fake as they are just basically a synthesizer through a speaker.

😉 I'm getting a railfan vibe about you from this video. Nice looking project. I'm hoping that one day somehow, and legally, I'll get my hands on a real one, or even some old Southern Railway signals.

Hey Nic what if you connected it to the facp and set it infront the garage door... That would be cool.....
@nics-systems-electric Жыл бұрын
What would be the purpose there is already a gate in front of the garage door I don't see how that would need to be anything to do with the fire alarm

Make a traffic light next. It will be for parking your car. It goes red when you can’t go back further and yellow when your close. Turn the sensor on with a button on the light so that you know when to stop when parking on your driveway. 😊

I don't plan on building any more of these type of things traffic light would be frustrating I think as I usually park in a different spot depending on what's going on my end up just running it over lol

14:55 there is a nut at the end of that contactor. That is how you adjust the speed of the bell. It extends to the strip to make it ring fast or if you extend it back it’ll ring slow. Here’s a video from my own channel of a similar bell. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHKwiWWlgcyKZtk I hope it helps

I would recommend selling your crossing signal rather than take it apart there are people out there who have interest in these home built signals either for display or for their own backyard Railroad and also I am an expert on these crossing bells. The contactor has a little adjustable nut, and that controls the speed of the bell to make it ring fast or slow

I remember seeing this signal not too long after you posted the first video on it, boy these years pass by quite fast lmao Ive got a couple of my own custom wooden gates here at my house and im planning to make my own mechanism for it, similar size to yours, but im wondering where i should look online for things like the 12v power supply and linear actuator. And going back to basics, i assume the power cable coming from the pergola enters the switch on the base then changes to the cable for the power board which is where the power supply plugs into? Keep up the great work man 👍

I think the lights can be a bit bigger and maybe add that bell to the top of the crossing, put a blue sign on it for emergency contact and give it to CN lol

ill be building one shortly like this that's motion activated to keep my kid from parking in my spot. really cool vid. I'm trying figure out how to do it with the actuator inside the pipe or box once that happens then start construction the rest i got figured out. personally i'm going to use gravity to lower the arm so that if someone is dumb enough to run under it then it will not crush them . Basically the motor will only push it up, it will be weighted so the arm is only a few pounds heavier than the back. That way if something blocks it it wont power down and crunch them, the linear actuator will just lose contact and keep going down . The bell will work with the arm but be on a timer so at night it wont bother anybody. Ill have a switch on my visor to turn it off when i want to go in or out.
