If you watch both of these Bandfest they introduced the girl with the prostatic leg but she also plays the Flute so look at her left leg it looks like she has a Elastic Bandage on it.

It is a Tachibanasaurus, a T-Rex that the school adopted as their mascot. There are 3 Tachisaurii. The one that hammed it up is a tuba player.

During the " Cantina Band " I love the " drunken " lean. It makes me laugh every time. The Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Brass Band Club has such a fantastic sense of humor. They are great Gals.

If I may add a little more about the origin of the nickname "Orange Devil" in Japan, it seems to be due to the fact that they win contests with smiles on their faces despite playing instruments while dancing intensely.

「笑ってこらえて」によると、コンテストでのライバル校がそう呼ぶのであって、橘自身はこのニックネームを使うことはない。　 簡単にやってのけるより演技で観客の注目・関心を一身に集め、他校（こう呼んでいる高校＝自分のところ）の演技を（観客には）全くつまらないものに見えてしまうようにするので「（自分たちの演技を奪ってしまうオレンジ色のユニフォームを着た）悪魔」

The band was started in 1964 by the the now 80 years old director. Tachibana high school was an all girl school until a few years ago. They wear cheer leader uniforms. It accentuates the leg movements. They would not be as visible if they were wearing pants

Next you need to watch there John F Kennedy HS. Benefits Concert they Did it's 55 minutes long. It's in La Palma California The school. I went to junior high school across the street from Kennedy High. It's a must see concert. You will see the other side of Kyoto Tichibana SHS.

Hace tres años, por recomendacion de un amigo llegue a los videos de Kioto Tachibana School Band y no podia creer que niñas pudieran tocar de esa manera tan bien un trombon una tuba un saxo y bailar al mismo tiempo, e investigue estas chicas, ensayan todos los dias incluso sabados y domingos hasta lograr una perfeccion increible y todo por el cariño a su colegio y poder representarlo en todo el mundo ...tengo 70 años y estas niñas vinieron a hacerme sentirme joven grande las ORANGE DEVIL.

この時は橘高校の卒業生を含めた総勢200名のバンド編成だったからソロパートを演奏した人は先輩がバックにいて緊張したんじゃないかな。

サックスで「 I’ll be there」を吹いた２年生は翌年の部長、後のクラリットを吹いた３年生はこの時の部長、多分演奏・ダンスが１番上手い生徒がＤＭになり２番目が部長になるのだと思う。もちろん指導力・統率力が必要だけど。　ＤＭ候補（正式就任は２年生の１２月）は１年の終わりに１年生の中から全員の投票で選ばれるが、やはり下手では選ばれない。

The birthday was for the Green Band Associations President's wife. I would hate to be the bands that have to follow these very talented and hard working ladies and gentlemen. The song just before Sing Sing Sing is Cantina Band from Star Wars.

My favorite band, love them. Only wish Hitomi San was the the DM because of all the adversity she has endured and overcome. Truly an inspiration and a role model to all. Can’t wait to see them in 2025. Catch the fever. The lady with the artificial leg is Hitomi San, she was introduced by the mc before they started their performance, she was on the left side. I think she plays the flute.

Hello Nielsens!! Thank you for your post. I see you are getting the Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band fever!! In this reaction you mentioned one of the students who has a prosthetic leg. Her name is Hitomi Kanamaru and she is a remarkable person and a true inspiration. (She's graduated from KT SHS I believe in 2018). Hitomi was born missing the lower half of her left leg, and when older was determined to join KT SHS. The full story is really incredible but too lengthy for text allowance here. She was in the California USA 2018 Rose Parade and in this video too. (This Bandfest video is one of the venues during their 2018 trip to the US). May I suggest for you the following video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIetZHulbZh-qck It is in 2017 in Kyoto and here the group is doing a street parade through a partial covered street market. You will get a good look of Hitari and her unbelievable ability starting around mark 07:48 of the video. Looking from the rear, Hitomi is in the last row of flutes on the far right. At first glance it looks like she's wearing a light colored bandage around her left knee. (That's actually the top her prosthetic leg). You will be stunned!! Hope you will consider the video. It's a different perspective and lot of fun with good visuals (like walking along with them) and sound. As well a few different music pieces. Enjoy and Thank you!!
