Another great drill, thank you Niels. Your exercises always pay off for me if I put time in it! Tried this exercise several times myself, turned out I have some issues with shot #1 as the cueball kinda dies and does not reach the third rail (maybe because cloth is slow). For me personally, shots # 2 and 3 are easier to execute because they require less power.

Excellent drill and very nicely explained. I really like the practice expectations. I guess if the object ball is not on the middle diamond, it is left to us to figure out the spins to use.

Good tips for shots where the next ball is either middle diamond at the other end of the table, or on the far side from where you're striking the CB (at the other end of the table). What about if the next ball is on the 1st diamond at the opposite end of the table, but on the same side as where you're hitting the CB? Would you try to add another rail into the equation or just adjust the english?
@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen2 жыл бұрын
Yes adjust the english so you take the correct route 💪🏼😄
@tomburns89010 ай бұрын
Good video and great drill, are you using more back hand English or front hand English or whole cue parallel cue English on all those shorts or a little of both. “They say” back hand works better with short & fast shots and front hand English works better on longer and slower shots. Personally I’m a feel player and each shot dictates how and how much & what type of English w would use on these shots. Thx

Helo Neils!my biggest issue is that i cannot resist keep shooting when i understand that maybe i am not ready to execute the shot because of maybe i didn't stand well,not reaching good enough,my hand isn't slippery enough on the cue etc. There is always a small demon inside me those times telling me to shoot even though i understand that i should stand up and follow again the proper pre-shot routine. Great lesson. Thanks! You could make it less confusing by demonstrating all shots from the same side of the table. Shot #1 has 10 o'clock English; Shot #2 has 2 o'clock English --- but since they are from opposite sides of the table, the English is really the same. The English is always on the opposite side of the short rail; except for the draw shot.
