The ending is just so unique it makes the game a true masterpiece. Everything will eventually ends, However, it's not about the end, but the struggle within the circle, the journey. That's why when you reach the end. It's time for all of your progress to be deleted, so you can now start to be in the circle, from the start, again. If there's any hope left for this messed-up world and the sad species that claims dominance over it, that hope will come from people choosing to be good to one another... not for profit, not for gain, and not to be thanked or applauded. Just to know that we did something for someone. Powerful feeling, that. One could of course get overly philosophical and ask whether it's truly selfless if it makes you feel good about yourself, but... well, so what if it's not truly selfless? It's still a kind act and might just help or comfort someone else, right when they really need it. Being allowed to feel good about making a choice like that seems like a pretty reasonable (and very cheap) reward for choosing to be a human being.^^

You can tell when pod 153 stops saying the "pod 153 to pod 042" and just starts speaking more normally and freely because it's confused about the situation, whereas Pod 042 remains calm and speaks in the manner it's used to. imagine being the first one to beat it without help and than giving it all up without knowing what kind of a true act of kindness and love to everyone in a community u dont even personally know , not even seeing what his act of kindness started as his ship will be the first to be there for them to accomplish something gr8er than finishing a game to connect on a level that cant be comprehanded to be someone hero of the day .... and all that with the bitter taste of neither seeing it aswell as loosing everything ..... Just like that u beat the game in the only true way possible to end the endless cycle of life and death of struggle and pain u had to take urself out of it . u lived 3 lives , three sides of the same story , 3 deaths that were unavoidable unable to to get them the end u rly want them to have a free life without all this pain and struggle but to achive this u had to give everything up so there is a story , a live for them with their own conciousness that u may never witness with u loosing it all , cutting strings , u truly freed them from the fate of being controlled by ''gods'' they never met , gods that already died , with u he player being the last of these gods , in a collective of many many players being exactly the same , the god of their world in their game. in the end it meant no being killed but deciding to kill ourselfs in order for freedom to be achieved . this was one of the most moving and closest home hitting endings as it gives u the cold reality of an absurdistic philosophical view of the world that no matter what u do it wont matter as u as an individum wont change anything but than giving up urself as one creating unity with others having to face the same endless fight u just had to jight to become one force to break it. as u probably could guess me myself gave mine too and who ever got Saved by Nightfay may my sacrafice have granted u the same experiance as ur sacrafices had been to me

You can see in different videos online where data is lost for Nier, Kaine, 2B, 9S, and a bunch of the other characters. Maybe that sacrifice was for show, a way to prove that you won't be ungrateful for those who you already lost, even though their names are fading from memory by the second. Maybe doing so would just perpetuate some lie or give another person false hope. Maybe the one I help won't even know I was there, nor will they notice or care if I get discarded like dust in the wind. After playing NieR: Automata for such a long time, and having my own journey, I came to my own answer to these thoughts: I don't care. I'll help, even if it is meaningless in the end. I won't be helping others by pursuing a truth I already know, but at least by making my sacrifice I'm willing to try and get others to reach that knowledge as well.

I dont think Ending E is available to obtain at this point in time, given the years past the game's release, and further more. So its best just to watch it from someone else. As services may no longer be available.

People who made a decision without thinking are idiots. So we're either cowards or idiots. What a depressing and ignorant opinion.

56cpfan late but that’s not it, you wouldn’t arrive to this ending if the helpers didn’t help you.. those helpers are the ones who “ deleted their shit “ so without them.. you would never reach here.

We are talking about Yoko Taro here, whoever survives is in for a misery in the aftermath. Don't believe me ? Look what they did to my boy, Emil. He still suffers to this day.

It's left to speculation, but they did release a sort of epilogue during the concert. I think it's canon.
