Thanks for showing actually installing the springs. In most videos, when they get to a difficult part, they fade out and fade back in with the task complete. They chop out the 3 days of cussing and fighting. LOL

I appreciate that... I have a few other videos where things went off the rails, and the planned task turns into something else. The distributor rebuild, turned into installing a flame thrower. The exhaust install became "how to expand a pipe without a pipe expander. And I am going to add one soon on how to replace the transmission interlock switch without removing the whole drive train.

@@AlexPlatacis Fantastic. Looking forward to the one about the trans interlock switch. I just went through that last week. Tried all of the usual suspects lowering the transmission crossmember to gain access through the shifter panel. Didn't work out very well, so as a temporary measure to protect the overdrive in reverse, I installed a relay that disconnects power to the overdrive when the reverse lights come on. Not ideal, but a quick 15 minute job all under the hood, until I can sort it out properly.

Thank you for the video, however the last few seconds were kind of fast - i did not see how you tilted the one side over the other. That is tricky too. I used a bit of Vaseline to hold the tapered parts. Also, it is imperative that the lower cam is located that the top cam will fit. I also needed to hold the lever to lift the locking tab to make sure there is room. It took me awhile to figure all that out. But I finally did put it together.

Was surprised how much gunk inside the locks. After taking apart, cleaning greasing, can close doors with my finger, almost!

I drill out then tap a, 10-32 screw w washer to reassemble unit.

mY 79 HAS A BAD DOOR CATCH ON DRIVERS SIDE AND THE DOOR IS STUCK SHUT ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO OPEN THE DOOR TO REMOVE THE DOOR CATCH?

WOW! Well, you are going to face some decisions... but however you go about it, you are going to have some damage. I have not faced this with an MGB, but I did have a guy bring a Corvette to me with the same issue. in that case, we took off the inside door panel to access the Mechanism. if the issue is the lock, you can run a slim Jim in to override. if it is the actual latch that is hosed, you will be in for quite a hard task. I have another vide on the lock give it a look it might help

I have a 68, 71, 79, 80, 79 & 80 Limited edition. Plus a 68 MGC gt. All but the two 80 and MGC have had ground up restorations. Yes I'm a MG hoarder. Lol 🤣😆😂. Oh, no serious rust in any of these California cars. :)

This MG I am working on is a 1977. But, we have removed the rubber bumpers, and are installing 1974.5 chrome bumpers. and the tail lights are 1969. so this is a '69, 74, 75, 77 MGB sort of a Johnny Cash inspired MGB

@@AlexPlatacis How about a Frankin-B. I had a 77 it was a great year. New dash style, new interior including head rests, anti sway bar at the rear and the electric fans with the radiator. All great improvements. Will you be lowering the car? It is advisable because of the reduced weight due to the removal of 100 lbs on each end of the car. The handling plus smother ride will be vastly noticed.
