I have seen many of Nigella's videos feeling incomplete without showing the final product... Yet i still like to watch more of Nigella .. Guess Nigella's videos are more about Nigella... than the recipe

Yummmmmm!! I LOVE annything strawberry! Nigella you are my absolute favorite person to watch in the world, and I love this recipe. When I worked in a bakery a while back, one of my specialties were strawberry muffins, and one of my secret ingredients was a tiny hint of lemon, not only for the strawberry muffins but really anytime I did anything strawberry. It really does seem to make their flavor *POP*

i recommend you split the vanilla pod in half and scrape the seeds into the mixture before allowing the pod to steep in the warm milk
@kesh77112 жыл бұрын
That's the norm when you making vanilla ice cream but when making another flavour like strawberry you want a light vanilla flavour not vanilla seeds

At the episode where this was made (Forever Summer - Pink), the end result was shown while the credits were rolling. I imagine that was the reason for the abrupt cut.

Please explain . You take the ice cream not freezer yet from the freezer put it in the blender again and then deeeze again? Is that it?

melanie silva That’s to break up any large ice crystals and ensure the mixture stays smooth and creamy when it’s firmly frozen.

So you partially freeze it, take it out, whip in food processor then repeat the process?
@mpb34815 жыл бұрын
Karen Katz That’s to break up ice crystals and ensure the mixture stays smooth and creamy when it’s frozen firmly.
@karenkaren31895 жыл бұрын
I understand.....how firmly do you freeze it each time?
@mpb34815 жыл бұрын
Karen Katz The recipe on her site states that if you don’t use an ice cream maker, you should whisk the ice cream every hour for 3 hours with an electric beater or in a food processor just to break down the ice crystals. After the 3rd whisking, it can be frozen until completely firm.

Can you tell the substitute for eggs for this ice-cream?
@premiumluwak2 жыл бұрын
you could really just skip the eggs! the ice cream would just turn out thinner. to compensate for the lack of liquid when removing the eggs, I’d suggest adding more cream.

You freeze it for about 2.5 hours then blend it in the food processor again, then another 3 hours in the freezer then blend again. It breaks up the large ice crystals and then you can freeze overnight and it should be relatively crystal free. Let it sit out for 15 mins before scooping to make it easier to scoop
@gulrukhlodhi96733 жыл бұрын
Hi. I made the ice cream following your recipe. But it had crystals in it :(

Incomplete! I shouldn't have to search the comments to find out the last steps! You freeze it for about an hour, take it out and wisk it up again, then freeze another hour, wisk again, then freeze til firm.
