That was a penalty he intentionally headed the ball to the hand however the Nigerian coach is the culprit. The best coaches make the best team selection and also make subs for the right positions at the right time. Idowu always looked uncomfortable throughout the tournament not very composed and not confident enough to make overlapping runs. Anyone complaining and crying foul should just stop. It would have been neat to see Nigeria go through and Argentina jumping on a plane but give credit where credit is due. Argentina came up with a great goal when things were looking dire. Nigeria have nobody to blame but themselves for not getting the draw. After the alleged handball the Nigerian player fluffed a prime scoring chance with the volley all alone in the middle of the box. Could have sealed the game right there. Argentina v France this Saturday, no way I'm missing that one. Exciting tournament so far, enjoying the great analysis from these guys.

For VAR i think it should be pretty simple- board of VAR referees makes call, not the main referee. The game continues and VAR referees stop the game and make the call.

Most rigged game of the tournament so far. Anything to bail out the Golden Boy Messi, who played like crap after he scored his only goal of the tournament. Argentina didnt deserve to make the Round of 16. Period. Once Nigeria scored, they saw red mist & resorted to playing dirty again (just like Croatia game). But every time Nigeria tried to get physical, the ref punished them for it. Every time Ndidi won a header....the ref called a foul on him because Argentina has team full of short people lol smh They even overturned a clear corner & made Nigeria throw the ball in so they couldn't use their size to score off the cross. Smh How the hell did Otamendi make it out the Croatia game with no red??? How did Mascherano not get a red today??? Why is Mascherano allowed to chase the referree around the pitch....angry but the moment a Nigerian player reacts to a bad call, the ref immediately tells them to shut up. No matter how you look at it...this is one of the most racist world cups towards African teams of all time. Iran & Morocco both got robbed too. Any brown or black nation had to play against 12 men. They didnt want Nigeria to play France cuz that doesnt lead to good ratings. Lets be real...the french team is basically an african side itself. Im sorry but Iwas not a penalty. The ball hits on marcos rojo's head and on the movement with his head,accidentaly the ball touches his arm. That's no considered as a penalty was not intention to touch the ball. Nigeria got a penalty doubtfull in the first place. I am Nigerian but Argentina deserved the victory. Our penalty was not a penalty in my opinion. However, the referee compensated Argentina when he didn't award a real penalty. We lost because our coach never came to win. He didn't believe our players could defeat either Croatia or Argentina. This resulted in a lack of self confidence in some of our players. Then another problem is his fixation on Ighalo who only scored once during the qualifiers and friendlies. Iheanacho deserved to be substituted but why Ighalo again. There was Simy or Iwobi. Ighalo was getting in the referees face rather than the goalkeeper's. Our coach refused to make substitutions as usual till there was no significant time left on the clock. He simply fields his favorites. Iwobi fell out of favor because of his uncles criticism of Rohr.

Well the problem is not that he's expected to win the world cup by people, it's that he's looked upon like that by his teammates too. Argentinian players talk about Messi like he is some God who will create their path to victory. Its because the refs are sometimes idiots so you see inconsistencies. The rojo handball incident is not a penalty though according to the rules. It MUST be intentional handball... The real issue for me is the very slight pushing and jostling in the box leading to penalties. Soon it will be like Basketball with players nowhere near other players just in case. There will be no marking opposition players. If VAR is introduced in top flight leagues I'll be watching EFL and Airtricity league only.
