Madara also welcomed Guy's attacks instead of using his many jutsus to evade Guy's attacks. Madara could have used limbo, Almighty push, switched his body with a wood clone or multiple wood clones to confuse Guy because he's on a time limit, he could have also used susanoo, Amaterasu, and Tsukiyomi because Guy doesn't know that the rinnegan still allows Madara access to his EMS abilities. So much Madara could have did but plot restricted him to give Guy his moment to shine.

We never see Madara use Amaterasu but it's safe to assume he has it because he has Tsukiyomi and needs a 2nd power before he can unlock susanoo. Madara could have been annihilated Guy before he got to that point of bending space or could have used wood style clones to fight Guy or just leave battle range until the jutsu expires. Madara didn't even try to use the Rinnegan 6 paths abilities. Madara could use Almighty push many times stronger than the one that destroyed Konoha but he never uses it. Almighty push can be used to target a specific thing by eyesight alone, making it very useful against Guy with all that speed. Don't forget Madara is fast as well. Dodging 2nd Hokage's flying thunder God and counter attacking Minato. Plot helped Guy tremendously, without it Madara would have easily destroyed him.

Remember Might Guy First Time he appeared, he said he was stronger than Kakashi. And everyone laughed. All of us. Then he showed during Konoha's attack by Orochimaru that he was on Kakashi's back all the time, he was one of the few shinobi of the war that did not get a single scratch. Then he showed NO FEAR opposing Kisame and Itachi. And Itachi Uchiha HIMSELF said he was not to be underestimated. People should have paid more attention then, I know I did. I knew from this very moment that there was going to be a moment were Guy will show that, after all, he was never boasting. Guy was out during Pain's attack, because Kishimoto knew that if he was here, he would have used his trump card, and Kishimoto wanted to keep it for later. Guy defeated Hoshigaki Kisame, who made the 8 Tails struggle and tricked him, the Raikage AND his sensor escorts. Guy defeated EVERYONE who did not have regeneration power due to the Six Path. Hatake Sakumo, someone more respected than the Sannin and a legend of the village knew immediatly. Hard work pays. And Might Guy put Six Path Uchiha Madara in a worse state than the FIVE KAGE, the old Hokage, Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi AND THE WHOLE SHINOBI ALLIANCE together. Kamui or not, I still to this day consider Might Guy Konoha's strongest Jonin during all these years before the war, while everyone thought it was Kakashi. Guy himself is the proof that what he taught Lee was not confidence boost : it was the truth. Work harder than anyone and you will be able to to more than elites and gifted people.

Just a correction: Kisame didn't just make the 8 Tails struggle. He could have easily won that battle. Tail beasts are chakra, and Kisame drains chakra. The more chakra the enemy has, the strongest he is. That's why Guy was the perfect counter, since he doesn't use chakra.

To me the Night Guy moment is unexaggeratedly the BEST MOMENT of the entire series. Nothing compares to the emotion and hype and intensity of that single moment that Madara declares Guy as the strongest. Then the kick thats so powerful and fast that it almost kills a demi god(without the implanted hashirama cells/Tail beasts Madara 100% dies here, or if the kick had landed higher on his chest/neck). And we are left with a man who has sacrificed everything and seconds from dying being saved by a newly ascended Naruto. To me its untouched by the rest of the series.

To address the Sage Mode eyes: regular Sage Mode is horizontal lines, Kurama grants vertical eyes and together they make a plus sign. HOWEVER, what Naruto displays here is known as Six Paths Sage Mode (still has yet to add Kurama's chakra).

It is strange that Guy is suddenly highly evaluated in this episode. When he first appeared, Sasuke rated his speed as "more than Kakashi" and Itachi said, "Don't underestimate that man（Guy）” to Kisame. It was obvious that he was one of the strongest among the Jonin. Hagoromo meant to say they were the *previous* reincarnates, as in the ones that immediately preceded Naruto and Sasuke. There were hundreds of sets of reincarnates throughout the eons before them.
