That actually turned out to be a nice way to paint Night Lords. Which will come very handy now that I decided to start collecting and playing my very own warband of the XVIII legion!

I never saw how painting the trim first was easier. It's there seems to be more surface area in the panels and it's recessed so chance for accidental spillover onto the trim. Although both seem tedious to me. I could see if I could use capillary action and a low surface tension to fill the panels be effective if that were the case but it doesn't seem like that
@norlanderduwallis90742 жыл бұрын
I agree. I find it easier to just carefully pick out the trim with a small-medium layer brush. I guess I just have a steady hand.

Beautiful work, would you paint regular nightlords the same way? Such as havocz, terminators and csm. Keep up the good shit brother

So, can't get a hold of Testors Lusterless anymore, but replaced with Rust-Oleum Dead Flat spray varnish, and followed everything else as closely as possible. I CANNOT get the paint to stop pulling apart and stick to the paint, even with the dullcote. As a result, I'm forced to layer the transparent paint, which darkens it and it totally loses the "candy effect". What could I be doing wrong? If you actually respond to this on a 4 year old video, I genuinely appreciate it lol

I really like this. Came out very nice. Be interesting to try a similar concept for Black Legion but with a really dark gray before the black wash
@johnbryant66905 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure that would work that well. They might not look black. Unless you are talking shades darker tha. Charcoal even. Two quick, fairly messy highlights (one dark grey and one light grey (with a little blue, red or purple) over black will read as black as long as 60% or more is actually black.
