I’ve never seen this movie but it’s undeniable how much inspiration they took from the Evil Dead. The camera speeding around the house, characters getting thrown through windows and into stuff, close ups of objects doing things, characters jumping up into frame while other characters are in the back. I do love Evil Dead though so maybe it’s good.

those particular shots (and the whole possession thing) is really the only major ED influence. Night of the Demons is a campy sexualized punk/heavy metal horror comedy that's lightly "spooky" at most, Evil Dead is a gore heavy pure horror movie that focuses on scares.

I was like 10 when I first watched this movie and I absolutely loved it.💕 I have always been a fan of horror films and I have seen some reviews of this movie saying it is trash. I mean for the 80's I think they did an amazing job with this movie. The makeup, the story line and how it gives you that creepy vibe of what a haunted house should be. Today's generation just wouldn't get it and that's why I am so glad I grew up in the 80's. I hear people talking about the "Lipstick scene" also as being gross but it just shocked me and not many movies nowadays have that effect on me. This is a gem of a movie though that I will forever be a fan of, love the creativity they had with this movie and not being afraid to think outside the box, wish they made more movies like this. I miss the 80's...😭😭 Oh and the soundtrack is awesome also to this movie!! 💕

As scary as Hull House was it may have actually been a safe haven! This film was made in south central LA around Vermont & Adams/ 29th St & Menlo/ 29th & Vermont. This area is near the USC campus. It is real close (too close for me) to the West Side Rollin 20s (Bloods), which includes a set called the Demon block. It was also close to the West Side Fruit Town Brims. These groups beef with nearby Crips--Rollin 30s, Rollin 40s and various other Crips. Further south are the notorious Rollin 60s Crips, who killed NFL star Kermit Alexander's mother, sister, and two nephews in the mid 1980s in their home. They were in the wrong house! The top henchman 19 year old Tiequon Cox is still on death row. This movie was made less than 4 years after those murders, and less than 4 miles away. The murders were on 59th St. Part of the set was on 29th and Menlo. Gang murders however go all over that area, then and now. So, in the above movie when the two make it over the wall, their problems were really just beginning at that time of night. The REAL demons were OUTSIDE the wall!

I think I know the parts of the movie that disturbed you. There's a part where an actual demonic transformation that takes place on the set, even the music that is played is an incantation and blessing (curse) to invoke the demons to force entry into the physical realm. Music starts @ 0:48 to 1:49 Don't watch the Movie cut scenes just watch the Demon Provoking Dance! The Dance and Music is summoning Evil. Night of The Demons - Music by, Stigmata Martyr The prayer (curse) begins when the voices force the Latin phrases speaking it out to reality, from the spiritual realm to our physical realm. Just like Cern is trying to open portals, Music and the inflection of the Human voice can do the same. I've studied this for years. Spiritus Mundi = Spirit of this world = Satan It's not mentioned in the movie but when this movie was created this phrase was widely used in music and the movies. In the early 80's I've backward masked reel tapes to play the music backwards. This was when Backward masking was being used to replay messages hidden in music. Subconsciously your brains pick up and decipher the words. Nowadays things are said blatantly out in the open. Jesus Christ is Lord, Yesterday, Today and Forever.
