I was at that show too. I was still in high school and had no plans to go but my girlfriend's mom, who was driving us up there, offered for me to go and then went and bought a ticket off a scalper so I could get in. How cool is that? We were maybe 14 of 15 at the time. Also, I'm remembering my own mom drove me and a friend to see AC/DC - For Those About To Rock tour and waited in the car until it was over. We were in the 6th grade and we thought we were so cool, when in actuality, it was our Moms who were cool.

That’s crazy you say that… I took my kids to their first concert 2009. It was The Tubes, Foo, ZZTop. And although, the whole time when FF were onstage, Gene Simmons sat on a speaker right behind Taylor Hawkins drum kit. When The Tubes were onstage, I noticed three guys standing right off the side of the stage, watching intently and after every song, clapped, very serious. It was really cool to see and I fought with myself to not videotape or take a picture. Even though it was Dave, Pat, and Taylor. I wanted to remember it how I remember it. Now, I so wish I had. BTW, the first single - and The Ballad the record company asked for - off that record was “I Did It For Love”. The record company hyped that release for weeks and weeks before it was announced. They would send my record store a sheet of paper that looked like a newspaper clipping headline “I Did It For Love”… with no other details or explanation. After a few weeks, it was suspense: “WHO did WHAT for love????”. Then they shipped the single and album. And that album just RIPS. My fave NR album, and that’s saying something!

@sdc7823 2 жыл бұрын
Grunge doesn't suck. You should be able to appreciate both. I have friends that pigeon hole themselves into only.listening to one type of music or one genre of rock. A person loses out when they do that. I was raised by my parents on classic rock. To me, Led Zeppelin is the greatest band ever. Then I listened to alot of 80s. Loved alot but didn't think it was all grand. Night Ranger were great. I loved Brad Gillis and especially Jack Blades. Saw Dokken. Saw LA Guns. Saw KIX live and they were great. They weren't as popular as some of the other hair bands, but they were great live. Tesla were phenomenal. I liked alot of other great bands that started in the 80s that you probably never touched or thought of. Most are still around today in some form. Pixies. Soul Asylum were epic. The Replacements. Dinosaur Jr, Husker DU. Grunge was awesome. You can't tell me you didn't like any Nirvana? Pearl Jam. Soundgarden with the now deceased Chris Cornell? He had the voice of a generation. It gave birth to the Foo Fighters. One of the very finest and talented bands of the past 25 yrs, and one of my all time favorites

Never ever liked Nirvana. Really don't like Night Ranger that much either but I did take the time recently to watch a live show on YT. Think it was at Sea World. It was good. I was surprised. Not one for the drum kit to be to the side but hey be you. Just like Robert Sweet. I usually don't take the time to leave somewhat negative comments but today is an exception. Think because of my massive dislike for Nirvana. I can't play anything & I could probably be better. It's just crap.

I never liked Night Ranger. People call 80s rock cheesy and often It's unfair, but Night Ranger is effing CHEESY. All of their songs are in a major key, their stage moves are goofy, their lyrics are superficial... just nope. That being said: Kelly Keagy seems like a really likable, positive dude.

I hate Night Ranger and pretty much all the hair bands. I was born in 1963 but I had always listened to older music. I thought the whole spandex and big hair thing was awful.
