The differences depicted in this side-by-side comparison footage are so stark. On the one hand, you have a fairly dark, dimly lit 80s Toronto with large open spaces that, oddly enough, really brings out the soothing atmosphere of Night Ride. Then there's the 2015 Toronto that's plastered with a pastiche of bright light, not a dark space in sight, and packed to a claustrophobic brim with architecture. I prefer the former, honestly.

Nice use of the original Global Red G logo at the beginning and also I liked how true this video was made to the original show back in the 80's

What a nostalgic trip. I prefer the old Toronto where Sam The Record Man's spinning vinyl was about the only prominent signage downtown; now there's a cacophony of distractions. A sign of the times. A little anecdote. Until about 6 months ago, I have not driven down Yonge Street in so many years. It completely took me by surprise to see there is a big school/commerce building on the corner of College Park where it use to be vacant. That whole downtown area stretching from College to Dundas/Queen has gone through such a dramatic transformation, it feels like a completely new city to me. @Night Ride Redux, what is the name of the song please?

My life at the time was going down the drain. I'd watch this in the middle of the night. I used to walk it as a teen.

@Fred P well, if he said that his life was going down the tubes then, it'd be nice to know if they were better these days. I was 4 years old when this show began airing, and was 6-7 when I'd turn it on to watch every so often before the morning news would come on. Just makes you wonder about everyone else, that's all.
