RIP Charlie Watts, self-effacing genius, gentleman in the truest sense of the word and jazzman to the core as the presenter of this excellent video says.

His greatest acheivement was not all about the Stones and the fame, for me, it was his 50yrs plus that he stayed with the same Lady through thick and thin. What a example to family, friends and the rest of the world. See you soon Charlie.

Look at the face of Charlie , Jazz was his love , he never smiled as much as this on Stones gigs. Played with my hero Pete King many times

I admire Charlie Watts work ethics, 'I love Jazz, it is very personal to me so will play it on my own time'. 'But since everybody has to work I'm going to go for the big bucks'. A lot of Jazz snobs will cry, 'Charlie sold out'. meanwhile they have to go to their crappy day jobs. I'm guessing that it all relates to jealousy. Vince Guaraldi was another smart one.

Damn I love this! Charlie looks like he's 105 years old, though. Rough life.

Best performance from an otherwise dreadful, utterly awful 625 revival. The house band were appalling, the guitarist like a grade 2 player.
