3:56 I'm sorry to be the guy but your editing was extremely confusing. You claim that the TM35 is on the left and the TM50 is on the right yet you interchanged them multiple time as evidenced by the black tag in the upper right of the image showing the 2.0X vs 2.5X text. At one point you were showing the same device in both split screens. I mean, I figured it out after my 3rd or 4th rewind but holy cow to the poor person who isn't already familiar with this stuff like I am. 5:35 the TM50 does not give you a "slighter larger field of view." I provides a significantly smaller field of view 8.7° x 7° @ 2.5mag. vs 12.5° x 10° @ 2.0mag for the TM35. Like most optics, more magnification = smaller field of view. 6:15 I don't think you understand how thermal optics work. You say the TM50 is going to provide improved "outlook" (guessing you mean view) during really low light conditions. Thermal doesn't us any visible light whatsoever. They work in absolute zero light or a cave a mile below ground. The 50mm objective is the necessary diameter to provide a 2.5x magnification image using that same sensor that's in the TM35. In other words, it's optical geometry dictated by desired magnification on a specific sensor. Again, sorry to be that guy but this overview contains so many mistakes and misinformation I'm not sure it will be helpful to anyone.

Would you say the TM50 is equal to or better all around than the Pulsar Telos XR50? (specs and or components)

I'm guessing you mean the TM50 vs. the Pulsar XP50. They're the same 2.5x base magnification, objective diameter and 640 resolution. The TM50 is smaller, lighter and uses a common 18650 cell and has very good image quality. The XP50 is slightly larger, heavier and uses a proprietary battery but has best in class image quality. This is highly subjective because with the same resolution, it comes down to who's processing the image better and the type of view that the eyepiece (occular) provides. The XP50 has a slightly more sensitive 17mm sensor vs. 12mm sensor in the AGM but the XP50 also costs about $1000 more. It's ust depends on what your priorities and budget are. The AGM is the one I take packing and hiking because it's compact and uses standard cells.

@@americanairgunner The last one was 6 months ago . and there was no rebuilding any of them they were all catastrophic failures ! The last time he just got his money back and got a GX

This was Chad's first time using thermals. He just about fell off of his stool with all the animals he was seeing at night. From field mice to deer, there was nothing that was going to hide from the AGM thermal.
