Most of the time the bigger Eagle is the female and the smaller one is the male and that is basically how you can figure out who is who. I was curious to know if this pair have names or not? It’s nice to get to see Bald Eagles up in Vancouver BC. God bless this pair and I do pray for when they are to lay their egg or eggs that they have success. Sue M. Florida,USA❤️🙏🥰🦅🦅❌⭕️😊

Thanks, Sue - I totally agree on the size, but it's my impression that the male here is fairly large, and I can't consistently tell who is bigger. Once we get to know more about them - which one prefers which perch, does one have a funny feather that sticks out - it will be easier to combine that with size to confirm ID. But for now, I cannot tell for sure who is bigger - and would love to have you join the forum if you're not a member and share your thoughts on that. Link to their thread is forum.hancockwildlife.org/viewtopic.php?f=138&t=751 And they do have names! With thanks to the local observers, the male is Glen, in honor of Gleneagles, and the female is Gladys, because it goes well with Glen. ~JudyB

@ Good morning HWF🙏🦅🦅. So nice to hear from you. With the Bald Eagle I’ve always been told that it’s the larger Eagle to be the female and the male is always the smaller one. However, I do believe I’ve seen where both Eagles are almost the same size but one still the female and the other still being the male. Like I’ve said, I have been only going by what I’ve learned from people who put out videos on our Eagles here in Florida and the US too. Also, I’ve learned too it’s the neck feathers on the back of the neck that shows the female from the male too but I haven’t been able to figure that out yet. The Female Eagles here in Florida are definitely bigger than the males. I was just curious to know, how come there isn’t a live chat with the live Eagles cams like most Eagle cams have and this is just a chat forum? Also, don’t people need to have a Facebook page in order to be able to get on the forum chats? I don’t have a Facebook page nor do I care to and in fact, I’m not on any kind of social media platform cause I think they are a waste of time and there can be a lot of nasty people on those things too. Yes, there can be nasty people on KZbin live chats too but, those chats seem to be moderated and those nasty people do get either put into timeout or they eventually get banned. I’m just curious and now I shall go for now. Do take care and have an awesome and blessed day. Sue M. Florida,USA 🙏🦅🦅❤️🥰🎅🏻🎄❌⭕️

@@susanmorris5520 Quite frankly, we don't have enough active members to properly manage a live chat - they can be great, but really need moderators online most of the time for that to happen, and most of us are too busy with other things - like documenting the activity on our forum and making videos. If we had some members who wanted to manage a live chat, we'd consider adding that - but we're currently focused on a more permanent documentation of what the eagles are doing - and while I know that folks on chat make great observations, I do not know how to save those for future researchers. If you have thoughts about that, please let me know. ~JudyB

@ Hi Judy. Nice to hear from you. I’m so sorry that you don’t have enough members or subscribers to have a live chat on the cam. I do know it takes a village to run cams and live chats too and also need mods to keep the chats friendly and let me tell you, some chats surly can have quite a number of nasty people. I’m also sorry too and please forgive my ignorance too, I didn’t realize this channel was just a research on the Eagles and information about them too and their daily lives. As of right now, I don’t have anything to share with you but if I ever do come up with something that would be of use for you and your channel I’d greatly help out. Do take care and have blessed night. Sue M. Clearwater, Florida ❤️🙏🎄🎅🏻🌴🦅🦅❌⭕️
