This is great walk tour video in a large market place. I've seen even more poor area on video in Pasig and Tondo. The slum areas look almost not safe 'health-wise' to live in. Otherwise people seem to be just contended and happy. I don't know if at nights that crime is more likely to happen in the slum areas, or pretty much the same during the daytime. I'm surprised not too many get runover by motorcycles. Poor but I still see people looking at their cellphone.

Most of the people who are living in this so called a poor community are not really poor people. Most of them are average income people and they consider to live in this kind of place as a practical way of living.The benefits which can give of living in this area are the cost of living which are cheaper than you will stay in a legal part of communities specially like in subdivisions.The cost of renting a house there are very cheap and even to buy a house there costs very low.That is why,the place looks poor because of its quite messy surroundings but the truth is,most of the people lives there are not poor.They are an average income type of people. They can afford to buy a house in subdivisions or rent an apartment in some rich lookimg areas but they prefer to stay there because they can still have money to save and buy more what they want. Well, that is all I know about the people livingin this kind of community.thank you.

As a Filipino I am very familiar with the various types of social areas or neighborhood in the Philippines. Some are poor, some Middle Class and some upper Class places. But what is very obvious nowadays at the present is that the economic standing of the Filipinos have risen for the best tremendously than in previous years. By 2030 the Philippines would have reached its goal of eliminating the lower Class and making the middle Class prosper and grow.

I really don’t see poor people there. A lot of taba walking around. Lots of cellphones. For them, poor is a state of mind. I’ve been to Pinas many times and there’s a difference between someone telling me they’re poor and actual poor people. If they don’t have fancier homes, then they should re-channel their resources better. There are truly poor people that I’ve seen and I empathize with them.

Hi Manilla Girl, I have a food question. In all your videos I do not recall seeing a large grocery store (supermarket) in the neighborhoods. Do folks generally buy their food on a daily basis from the vegetable sellers and street meat markets? Are refrigerators common in the houses we are seeing today, or would the inability of keeping food fresh necessitate buying ones food every day? Thanks, and Keep on Truckin!
@manilagirltours89402 жыл бұрын
Hi @J there are lots of large grocery stores here depending on the location. Some people are not fond of buying from the wet market. It's just that wet market are best for videos. Yes the way this bloggers describe the Filipinos way of life is some times depressing, if you tour some suburban city in the USA there are more dying places there their population are losing more and more every year, I will not degrade Filipinos if you notice more Chinese are moving out of China because how they were treated by CCP there are more Americans move out overseas because the cost of living in America is very expensive social security alone not enough.

Without oil there are no other resources except sand and goats for other countries. In the Philippines though people are not that rich, no one goes hungry without money. Philipines is very rich in natural resources and the Sea surrounding it is abundant with food. Other countries people without money cannot eat sand. So Philippines is not poor.
