Just got this light. Tried it out tonight across the lake. Conditions were very good, the area/sky is dark and the lake is frozen and snow covered. It illuminated the opposite shoreline 1.42km away!!! The amount of light wasn't particularly useful but I could identify clumps of bushes as well as the shoreline itself. Amazing light!!

Hey bud, that driver is on a timer, so after 1.5 minutes it starts stepping down gradually to 40% over 9 minutes, that's why you weren't able to detect it by sight

Thank you for the follow ups, proud owner of this trooper, with that driver, i've tempted to swap in sst40 N5 just to compare the beam spread way ahead.. well.. with the stock light, one can run fast and we're still able to tail 'em with this intense 1800-2000 lumens no problem.. (hit cell tower 490m away ..) Cheers☕

I think this emitter type is about as low as one can go. Otherwise, the lower modes become too greenish/brownish.

I love throwers and ive been wanting this one for a while. The thing is that I got a Sofirn SF47T last month, and as much as I like the L21B, I think it might end up being very similar to it. Any thoughts?

@@ChalliceofLight I hope so. Was gonna get a cslnm but the beam was just silly small. Culpm has more lumens and is much wider plus it's only 100 less meters throw. If it doesn't work out I'll just sell it second hand and get a EDC sized LEP

Absolutely incredible throw for its size. Too bad you didn't show us any of its capabilities at any of the lower power levels. Is the spill sufficient at any of the lower power levels for walkabout purposes?

Yes it is, i set mine with 10th group (1-10-35-100%), at 1% mode; 2-3 meters eyesight to the ground in front of you the hotspot and corona won't hurt your vision and still sufficient with 2+meter diameter of spill

This is actually 6500. The spill on many of these emitters does appear warmer or neutral-tinted.
