Isaac Asimov is one of my favorite authors. I read the book of the same title that Robert Silverberg wrote that took this story a bit further. It was Steven Juster, my high school, English teacher, that introduced me to this great science fiction writer.

An astronomy major did the calculations on a star system as described in the story, an eclipse would actually happen every 2 to 6 years, not millennia.
