Best practical demonstration of SFP optics I seen in a long time and I've been using SFP optics for decades.

Excellent explanation. I’ll be purchasing this scope because of this video. I was hesitant until now.

About time a high end scope maker went back to SFP! Would be kinda cool to have that same reticle feature on the 2.5-20 at 20x and 10x but no big deal, Im still getting it

I really wish I had a range that goes out to at least 500 yards so I can figure out my second focal plane LPVO. I ran a first focal plane in 2017 till just a few months ago. decided to upgrade that old 1x-4x to something with at least 6X and wanted second focal plane becuase I found it annoying that to get decent solid groupings at range over 100 yards I had to start magnifying and take a seat vs standing up. so I went with 1x-8x Strike eagle with the AR BDC3 reticle. got the center dot zeroed to what the manufacturer speced and I love it for 50 to 200 yards standing with my sling on. I get good hits at a reasonable speed. unfortunately I don't know how to use the hash marks at 1x I have a theory that the ranging feature that's above the main reticle can be used in conjunction when I'm in 1x for targets that are 300 and over as long as the targets are about 5foot 8 or so. unfortunately I don't have a range in my area that gives me over 300 yards to test this out and learn my hold overs. I love having the ability to shoot at distance from 1x vs having to always zoom in to bring out the reticle.

I still may end up with the 2.5x20 for my DD5V3

First up, thank you for reviewing the very two NF scopes I am considering in SFP. Why SFP? 71 years old eyes. I see better with SFP scopes.

I have to give it to Nightforce that’s awesome. Plus second focal plain is a little cheaper. Very nice. I just got the Element Nexus. I think 🤔 I’ll buy this scope for my 6.5. Very nice scope. B

Do they offer this in the MOAR SFP NX8 optic?

For the purpose of speed when ranging objects and determining holds quickly, a First Focal Plane Scope is best, but at my age, when using the lowest power, it can be more difficult to attain crosshair resolution against your target, especially in certain lighting conditions. HOWEVER, IT IS ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE TO APPLY A MATHEMATICAL CORRECTION FACTOR TO DETERMINE RETICLE SUBTENSIONS ON SECOND FOCAL PLANE SCOPES FOR ANY GIVEN POWER. For example, on a Vortex 3-18x44 strike eagle SFP, when using at 3x magnification, the reticle subtensions are 6x the number given. And, seeing as the EBR-2 reticle on that optic is graduated in 1 moa subtensions, one can still apply a rather quick hold estimate when using the lowest power.....And still see the crosshair at the lowest magnification.

Yes, there isn’t anything ground breaking in this reticle. Every second focal plane scope will do exactly the same thing. A little bit of math goes a long way. This guy acts like you need this ret to make this possible. Never mind I didn’t realize this video was made by night force.

Which unimount(s) is that? Specifically the height, or even part number(s) would be great. Thank you!

Take a look at the A221 or A496. It is 1.5 inches high and there are 20 or 0 MOA variants. Thanks

Is the center dot hard to acquire in low light conditions?
@nightforceoptics Жыл бұрын
Our glass has exceptional clarity and light transmission, giving you extra help during low light situations. When the light gets too low, the illuminated reticle will help you locating the center dot quickly and affectively.
