Outstanding video. It appears the clients don't have the best doors or door jambs for you to work with. A solid hard wood door jamb is very important in preventing forced entry. We have many of the same issues in the USA. Thank you for sharing your videos 👌. God bless 🙏

Great to see how you come up with solutions to issues you face. I have never seen a nightlatch with that sort of handle before, looks really easy to open when you have arthritic hands. Thanks for taking us to work again, cheers mate
@brighton_locksmith11 ай бұрын
Hey PW. The nightlatch is a Banham. A high security, very expensive, top of the range brand over here in the UK.

Get one of the keys from a working mortice lock in that house and then copy it onto a blank and then cut or file the warding off on the new key flat and I bet you now have a master key that goes to all the other old mortice locks in that house, I bet it's just the warding that differentiates each key not the end biting, and good vid keep them coming pal.

Thanks for making these videos. I’m new to your channel and new to locksmithing. I have 2 suggestions. You cut away just when you are getting into the nitty gritty. When you come back it’s miraculously repaired. Please show us all the details and struggles. That’s how we learn. Also please use a tripod. The camera constantly moving makes me motion sick after a while. Please don’t take these suggestions wrong. I’m just trying to help. Keep making videos. They are interesting.

Let's all cater for your needs shall we 😂 its a first person camera kind of setup, that's how he's always worked all through his videos, it's a live job, he has to get the job done and onto the next one, I'm pretty sure a professional setup isn't efficient.

Andy you need to put a tapered Ali block in the keep of Adam’s rite lock to take up slack of hook done it many times on garage showroom doors

The Banham L2000 is the most popular lock in London now! I reckon theres more of those than any other Lock, certainly on my patch in Battersea, Chelsea and Kensington etc

@@brighton_locksmith TBH, they tick the boxes in a lot of ways… substantial deadbolt, 10 inch striking plate,6 finishes… a quality lock let down with those keys that snap easily in the lock… still, good for me!

That Adams wright hook lock was a great idea. I didn't know they made one with the euro cylinder . I 'm going to try that on a aluminum frame sliding door if I can get one here in the US.

From what I could see, the thumbturn was hitting the wooden frames either end when fully opening or closing the door. If it keeps taking a knock might not be too long before it fails? (but knowing you you've already got round it!)
@keymad49 ай бұрын
if it was hitting he wouldn't have left it on lol.
