Top Story with Tom Llamas is the more longform version of Nightly News with more details and interviews. They have to fit this program into the half hour time slot with television ads. Some of these stories really do deserve a deeper delving into than the high-level overview you get here. Compare the Nightly News coverage of the Ukrainian children abducted by Russia to the Vice News coverage of the same, or NBC's own expanded coverage on the resurgence of child labor versus the Nightly News overview. That said, I agree that it's a good brief of the big picture that doesn't waste our time. José Díaz-Balart's whole signoff is, "Thank you for the privilege of your time," so I think they get it.

Most of that companies money comes from tax payers so when they paid out the settlement did she get a cut of the government money. I was once a procurement officer at a US Installation.... It seemed every time we dropped DOD full time employees and took on a private contractor we ALWAYS went over budget and 75% of the time the quality of work went down. This was in the mid 70's. I gave up and transferred to a US Army forward area maintenance operation.... with all full time DOD tradesmen, most were WWII veterans. I stayed there until a teacher position opened up in Australia, free health care....still in Sydney.

Welfare laws need to be changed as well to limit to how many kids they'll pay for. 3 kids. 27 year old girl on my road is pregnant with her 8th child. NEVER worked a day in her life but buys new car every year if welfare taxes from having so many kids. In the video the victim had 3 surviving kids and 16 grandkids. Welfare is paying for those 16 grand kids at some point and medical care as well. It's wrong. Make these young moms that are having so many kids take they're butts to work and cut welfare, medical care to 3 kids. Kids having kids no wonder the cycle continues. No wonder folks are frustrated and acting out cause govt needs to stop giving handouts for having too many kids that they can't afford themselves. Make the girls get fixed if they receive welfare
