Actually, I ran across an AI app a few weeks ago-- I wasn't looking for it-- that I think probably gave a good differential dx to what I was experiencing, but I haven't had time to follow up with a real doctor, so I'm not sure. AI isn't the same as a hologram. A hologram is a real person, projected-- except on Star Trek Voyager, when he was a computer model. Though he didn't think so : )

I work a private industry job that deals directly with implementation of AI and ML for corporate solutions, and am also a researcher in data science at a European public university. There are two problems with this approach: AI can always be wrong about something or decrease performance and yield mediocre results. That's why there's a warning on the bottom of ChatGPT to fact-check what it gives you either with a reputable source or an expert. The second problem is that Google now utilizes AI to summarize information online and it has notably made many mistakes in summarizing this information and even given users dangerous advice (like adding glue to a pizza recipe to make the cheese consistency look better). Therefore, you are basically just self-diagnosing with Google--something that medical professionals have been trying to discourage us from doing since the creation of the internet as a publicly accessible tool. There's a lot of misinformation and conflicting information in the huge body of texts online that are often utilized to train models, and it's often likely that the misinformation can get fed to the AI model. I bet you there is even a disclaimer like what ChatGPT has on its interface that I mentioned. A diagnosis from an AI model is not a replacement for screenings or tests with medical professionals either.

Many patients today are getting episodic care with specialist A, specialist b....and who gets to see whole patient. For example: recently getting many patients with undiagnosed irregular heart rhythms due to 12 lead EKG not being done with a primary care visit. Many nurses will be retiring soon (me too :)).....good luck to us all.

Why not discuss one of the number one contributors to the shortage in healthcare workers? I'm a HCP in primary care and considering leaving the healthcare industry. We are overworked and underpaid, can't afford my school loans and childcare, do not get bonuses or raises, too short maternity leave. While I'm expected to see too many patients in too short of time, end up working through lunch and from home while still not being able to get it all done nor devote the time to care people deserve. Maybe if media brought more attention to this issue, things would change
