Well, he did have a terrifying close call with a drug dealer and hid in the bathroom when the customer showed up. After watching the video, I realized my knees had been shaking the whole time. He came THAT close to being seriously injured. But I'm grateful to know he got out without a scratch.

Man, the first minute of this video especially really would be such a great intro to a horror or psychological thriller movie! I love the atmosphere you set with it, with the music and the stillness of the camera to the slight shake/wave for other scenes, it really adds to the visual and auditorial experience. The cost of demolition and removal of a building this size must be enormous. That is probably why it has been abandoned for so many years.

the cleanup after demolition and regulations of the DEP would require removal of at least 18 inches of the base dirt after the entire structure is completely removed to get rid of all contaminants that soaked down over the years. Its a ton of red tape to reclaim old industrial property and land.

Boiler operator here. At 09:42 is a steam condenser which is used to make a vacuum. So somewhere nearby would have been a turbine setup or evaporator system. The boiler is probably near the brick stack earlier in the video. Itll be hard to distinguish as utility boilers are a couple stories in size and there is a good chance it collapsed given the state of the building.

There are too many legal issues to run into. Most urbex types never carry anything more than a small can of pepper spray or a collapsible metal baton. I wouldn't carry a gun either - too much trouble even if you were 100% justified in using it, you could still wind up in jail.

Hi Dan and Will, I'm surprised the floors didn't collapse on you. With the combo of "the falls" flooding that area constantly, the vibrations from the JFX, and the building being a few hundred years old I'm happy you came out alive. Clipper Mill bottom is just a bad place for buildings. Great video as always Dan. Only a small correction, you're on the ground floor and not the basement. Blueprints and the absents of large concrete load barring supports in the video for a structure this size and age, there is a sub-level and partial full level below you. Still a good exploration.
