do people really not know about the whole anti-hero characters from older shows? Anti-heros are made to look like knockoff/worse versions of the main cast and act as the shows villains. If the smiling critters was a show the nightmare critters would 100% be the anti-heros that stir the pot every now and then. It makes sense.

@@spoopyghost3333 I like my Dark counterparts too, although I wouldn't really count golden freddy and springtrap as an example, Fredbear and Spring Bonnie are more like partners than a good one and a bad one, and Golden freddy and Springtrap while enemies don't really have anything that makes them a good and bad opposite of the other besides just being golden animatronics. If you want a good fnaf character with a dark counterpart I would say The puppet/Charlie and Baby/Elizabeth would be a better example as they have way more in common (they are both daughters of the owners of freddy's, they both possess robots their fathers created, the animatronics they possess were both designed for the motives they have, they both lead the missing children at some point, they both possess animatronics with clown like attributes) while also being exact opposites (Charlie is the daughter of the good owner, Elizabeth is the daughter of the bad owner, Charlie wants to stop the killer and is protective towards the missing kids, Elizabeth helps the killer and is dictatorial towards the missing kids, Charlie possesses a robot designed to protect, Elizabeth possesses a robot designed to kill, Charlie tries to protect children like her father, Elizabeth's tries to kill children like her father) to where you could consider one to be an "evil version" of the other.

I can see both sides to the Nightmare Critters arguments. Indeed, it makes sense in universe, because the Smiling Critters was a show based in the 90s, and a popular thing back then was to have the anti heroes or antagonists be LITERAL anti versions of the main cast, so it really does make sense. But at the same time, with how popular the original Smiling Critters actually got, and how unoriginal some of the Nightmare Critters’ designs feel, it also does look like they’re taking the easy way out and continuing to milk a previous idea that made them alotta cash. Either way, in my own opinion at the end here, as long as they can turn it around and make them scary in Chapter 4, then game is game. I just hope Chapter 4 can be as great as Chapter 3 was.

PPL don't consider that things were slower in the 90s. Not everyone had a computer (and if they did, they had dial up and it was only 1 computer in the house, more if you were rich), and not everyone had a TV (and if they did, there usually wasn't one in every room of the house). Characters from cartoons would stick longer in people's minds and the whole "what if" factor (or new characters) was fan-fiction until it was officially made cannon (and that could have taken....forever. If it happened at all). Nevermind the fact you had to purchase cable to watch certain channels and internet was a box you had to have installed into your home (neither were always accessible to everyone)

Alright, since everyone has their own opinions/preferences, I’m going to try to give the most unbiased explanation of the issue at hand. As someone who actually likes the Nightmare Critters(and the fact they’re meant to be the inverse/antithesis of the smiling critters) it’s not that people dislike them, it’s the fact it’s technically a retcon, even if they play off the fact that they’re ‘alter’ versions of the existing critters. Not a favorable marketing tactic, but there will always be someone to dislike that. Secondly, it’s not that Mob is a bad company for doing that; it’s the fact that they’re doing it purely for marketing, alongside the fact they themselves are(and I mean this without vice) a questionable company. Between almost turning their product(Poppy Playtime) into an NFT project, and the reasons behind why so many employees/developers have left the company in the recent months(by the least some skepticism). Again, I’d like to reiterate I’m not saying you should hate/dislike any of their work, and it’s fine if you don’t like it or their practices. I for one like the Nightmare critters(and again) it’s been stated multiple times they’re not the lead villains of this chapter. Love the video, though! ❤

It couldn’t be anymore obvious that they clearly made the nightmare critters to reskin the mini critters for chapter 4. Not docking them at that. I’m glad that the nightmare critters are basically an original idea that are actually inspired. The smiling critters were basically based around the characters from Fnaf, particularly around the purple guy. Though with these nightmare critters, they allowed themselves to be a lot more creative. It seemed they were paying attention to what their audiences wanted as the nightmare critters seem much more 3 dimensional. I just hope they do a little more with them in chapter 4 than they did with the domestic critters.

In universe they make zero sense, because in the universe of poppy playtime i'm pretty sure, the smiling critters flopped, playtime co would have zero incentive to make more characters like them, and in fact, it's counter intuitive, heck, even the existence of Kissy Missy is a better financial tactic than creating the Nightmare Critters, because Huggy Wuggy was already successful, i can suspend my disbelief until this fictional company does something so stupidly financially irresponsible.

Personally, my problem is that a lot of lore was released with the smiling critters to kind of focus to catnap and I feel like there's no real focus with the nightmare critters. I don't think they're bad. I don't really think they're good. They just kind of there personally I would love if they were bigger versions of them, unlike the smiling critters, but I don't want them to be the exact same as cat nap or Bobby bearhug.I just feel like a VHS about them showing when they take place if it's before the smiling critters just kinda, would it help flushed it out because as far as I known, it seemed like the smiling critters were on their own solo standalone toys. I also kinda am more interested in a monstrous Bron or Daisy. I kinda wish there were more toys that were kind of mauled and attacked. I wish they were kind of more like hiding.

My only issue with the nightmare critters is that if this was the plan mob should have put them in chapter 3 imagine a war between both smiling and nightmare critter with you as the player having to do missions on both sides while trying not to be killed by either side then a finale battle between both sides for the ending. The drama is a senseless. Poppy playtime has proved itself three different times and now that there’s a fourth with similar characters as the third people want to gripe. This isn’t like the Minecraft movie wear no promises are bold and apparent. This is a story that has carried itself in more and more interesting ways. I’m giving Mob Entertainment the benefit of the doubt. None of us will truly know the intention of chapter 4 until the ARG and the game are complete. Let’s save judgment for the finished product. Kissy Missy and Huggy are the same creatures. Pj pug a killer and Dogday are dogs. In the cartoon universe, there are close to 150 smilling critters. So,what if there is a critter that is a spider. Nightmare Huggy had some colors like new baba chops.
