One of the main things I care about most with these isn't so much that they're good. What I really care about is the fact that this sets a possible precedence of them going back, reviewing certain echos (maybe even sonata sets in the future) and giving "nightmare" options for us to farm that will be a buff to the overall set and characters. I'll be harping quite strongly on the survey they send out for 2.0 about how much I REALLY like nightmare echoes and how much I want them to keep this idea up as an avenue of buffing older characters!

hope they add more dynamic and interesting playbility on the echo effect, instead of doing some damage and buffing (4C echos)being the only option, I'd like to see people using 1C or 3C echos for some creative method but yes still doing decent damage (like ~80%). Some of the existing 1C or 3C are actually interesting to use, but imagine how weak these interesting echos are runined the passion of investing it.

@@poplo9094 yeh, something like that, and instead of having a common buff like adding atk%, they can add interesting buff like increase the attack speed, longer the air duration so Alto can have more air attack in one set. or some rogue-like buffs like do a lightning damage every 3 normal attack so Comellya has a chance of using it. I know it's hard to balance it, but I don't really care if it's weaker than the meta one, just don't be too weak like 40% damage of the meta, then it will be meaningless. I think the potential of the echo system is huge, and from the interview I think they're also trying to add more diversity to the echos or some echos playing mode which also could be fun to play, so I'll look forwards to any changes they'll make.

I would've prefer if nightmare IR echo is a summon type instead of transform. Imagine we can just summon IR on field to cast meteor aoe attack instead while retaining the supposed leak buffs. You got the whole dmg of the echo attacks without interfering with your rotation/combat flow. No need for animation cancelling too.

@@KuroBots01 Bro, no echoes in the game are used for damage dealing purposes. Even Dreamless huge burst damage is negligible in the grand picture of your whole rotation. Echo damage is non-issue. It'll be great to do high damage but it is not vital in damage calculation.

Even tho I'm happy with the new revamps of pre-existing echoes. I do wish devs made them like forms that I can choose to go into. Farming a whole new set of Memphis when I had them at perfect rolls feels lowkey shitty ngl. Would've been much cooler if they implemented them to be like: "Oh you reached a certain databank level, you've now unlocked these forms for these pre-existing echoes that u can swap into". Definitely could've saved a fuck ton of farming but still a W for an electro main like me

Maybe even a "Transfer the stats of an existing echo to a new one" type item, but its a permanent swap (or uses a consumable item only form events, kind of like crowns in genshin?)

BEST part of these echo's is how short field time they require, every one of them is easy to swap cancel with! Although I do hope they go back and change or buff some of the older ones like Thundering Mephis, maybe making it faster to use and changing to buffs you get after using it. but overall a 10/10 Kuro listened to feedback change

Interesting but I’m a little bit split on that. One one hand passiv Echos can be a very comfortable thing and a fix to the problem with problems on some sets but on the other it also invalidates an game mechanic that makes the game unique if they only go down this route and don’t create new echos that give us stronger buffs that need to be fitted into a rotation.

Happy New year everyone, I hope all of you strongly consider the clock method when you tune your new echoes! I been turning every 40 seconds or minute and I get double crits 7 out of 10 times. Remember Echo stats change on the servers end ever 5 seconds!

Giving us better 4-cost Echoes for the old sets along with the new sets somewhat decreases the sonata powercreep. Interestingly, some of the new Nightmare Echoes are only for the new sets.

Since they are making these Nightmare echoes buff just while it's equipped in the main slot, I'm hoping they could add some other echoes that buff while not in the main slot. That might allow for some more 1-3 cost echoes to be used, since really only 4 costs are used. Or even use two 4 costs, one in the main slot to use normally and then the other that gives a passive buff. Also I'm wondering if these Nightmare echoes can be used alongside their normal version. That would be nice for Fusion and Aero since they only have one 4 cost, so then they could use a 44111 build instead of always 43311.

No nightmare lampylumen makes me sad. The new vault guardian's set is probably built with Carlotta in mind, so hopefully it also gives an alternative to other glacio characters. Zhezhi will almost certainly want the new coordinated attack set, but an alternative 4-cost echo for the glacio set would have been a nice option to have.
