The NL wasn't significantly better than the AL this season, there were no shortage of under performing teams in both leagues. Ironically, some of the teams could have addressed their problems if the team owners had chosen to not be so greedy and intentionally keep their payroll low. Some of the teams struggled during the season because of injuries to key players which is often difficult to mitigate. The Yankee's meltdown in the 5th inning is clearly not emblematic of their season as a whole. This becomes evident especially when you see that their various stats are the highest or nearly the highest (wins/positive run differential etc) in both leagues.

Yes, the Dodgers bought multiple star players; but they were the right ones. They play baseball the way it should be played. They also overcame injuries and their farm system produces. The old Branch Rickey dictum of "teach the game" is still alive in the Dodger organization. The current Yankees are an exact inversion of the franchise's increasingly distant dynasty era, where most of their championships were won. Being lazy, entitled, contented, intimidated and clueless (in a baseball sense) would have gotten you a fast ticket out of town with the old Yankees. After hitting a couple of early home runs tonight and admiring them, they quit. And that's a disgrace to the sport.

Aaron Judge is one of the worst postseason chokers in baseball history. He's a career .205 hitter in the postseason and hit .184 this postseason. His dropped fly ball in the 5th inning of game 5 opened the flood gates for the Dodgers to come back and win the game and series!! Judge was the main reason the Yankees lost the World Series.

Judge in his postgame press conference said because they took the lead back they didn't give the game away. Blowing a 5 run lead with 5 unear runs is the definition of giving it away. Judge is such a loser. Our captain isn't a winner, it's time us Yankees fans come to terms with that.

There was more to that fateful last inning of Game 6 against the Mets than Bucker's error (Mookie Wilson has long said he would have beat it out even if Bill caught the ball). Before that play, Bob Stanley had two strikes on Wilson and threw a wild pitch that tied the game. The 1986 choke by the Red Sox was such a hard blow to take because they were ahead by two runs and one strike away from popping the corks on the champagne bottles awaiting them in their clubhouse. The way Game 6 ended killed their spirit to the point where Game 7 was lost before it started. By contrast, the Yanks were still alive and took the lead after their 5th inning meltdown. Have to give credit to the Dodgers who didn't fold after being five runs down and no-hit and shut out by Cole, nor did they give up when the Yanks went ahead again on the sac fly from Stanton.

As a Yankee fan, I'm at a loss for words about how the Bombers lost this game to boneheaded moves by Judge, Volpe, Russo, and Cole, who committed defense errors to score unearned runs for the Dodgers. What a catastrophe in our Yankee nation today😫. It's bad enough that the Red Sox swept the Yankees in 2004 to cling to the ALCS, but last night's loss was inexcusably detrimental I can't condone whatsoever!!!!! The bats were on fire in the bottom of the first inning, and it was apparent the Yankees would win and head to Cali for Game Six if it weren't for the errors. What more there is to say? It's been 15 years since the last time the Yankees won the World Series, and I was hopeful it could happen again if they dominated and took last night's game. Jesu😓. This loss will keep on stinging our backsides for a long, LONG, time. Good luck with obtaining Soto for the Winter Meetings.
