I'm a big Alonso fan but a 3 yr deal at 90 million is plenty good. He'd be the highest paid yearly of all first baseman and he is definitely not as good as several first baseman. He isn't a good fielder..... adequate at best ....he simply lacks athleticism and quickness. He will be a full time DH in two years. There won't be any team interested in fielding him at first base. The Mets and Pete have had a good relationship. Sign a contract and trust in your ability. Nobody in the Mets organization is trying to short change Pete.
