a way i see of fixing this is recording the stream audio separately from the voice audio. like having two recording setups, one that will be sent to the stream, and the other one that ONLY records his voice in the case he wants to turn it into a video- then he can just replace the audio for the one without the stream alerts in it when editing the video. though i dunno if recording his voice separately as well as recording the screen AND streaming it online would be possible, or if it would affect the performance of his computer negatively or something, ive never streamed

I was just going to comment this very thing. It became a choice to either listen at a volume where I could hear Nick but the alerts were so loud that they scared the crap out of me every time they happened, or listen with the volume so low that I couldn't hear Nick, but the alerts were manageable. Or not watch at all (closed captioning isn't an option for me). I knew I couldn't handle an hour of the alerts at the high volume, so I couldn't watch this episode. It's a shame because, being a child of the 80s and 90s, it intrigued me right off the bat.

Loving this video as well! My only request is, can you please split the audio from those Twitch redeems and at least not include them in KZbin uploads? The audio redeems are pretty jarring and loud; at best they’re inconvenient and distracting, and at worst they actively detract from the content you’re trying to show us. (It was especially bad during the Welcome Home video, where it was hard to tell what was twitch noise and what was actual arg content). As a twitch streamer, you can just set redeems to an audio source that isn’t captured in the vod; I think it would make KZbin uploads of streamed content much easier to watch.

I swear, every time Nick cracks up at something it adds years to my life. The site is amazing, you can tell it’s a real labour of love. That’s the main thing to remember with anything you put out there into the world - make sure you enjoy it enough that, even if you get absolutely no interaction, just the act of creation made you happy. That way, even if not a single other person interacts with it, you haven’t wasted your time, because time enjoyed is time well spent.

Oh crap, that's a really good point about the brick wall maze screensaver. I feel like I remember that sometimes, the dead ends would have this weird picture instead of just bricks--but it was way too pixelated for me to ever figure out what it was supposed to be a picture of, and I found it mildly unsettling.
