The scene (with the music) is incredible. Just one issue I have with this particular upload. The image quality is good and the music sounds great but Sonny is drowned out by the music and I can't hear what he said. It doesn't matter since I already know what he said from watching the episode with the meaningless generic music. I just would have found it more impactful if I'd heard the words "How are you going to remember this? How are you going to remember me Vinnie?"

@JohnDoe-rj8nd
@JohnDoe-rj8nd 4 жыл бұрын
He was going to get the death penalty, he even explained his thoughts about it right before he killed himself. Speaking to Vinnie, he says "Know what the penalty in this state is, huh? Lethal injection... They strap you to a gurney, pump you full of morphine... Half the officials in the state are watching on Closed Circuit TV... You'd like that wouldn't ya? Well half those guys that are watching me slip through oblivion... they're on my payroll. Like you.". It's clear based on what he says that he didn't want to have people watching him as he was executed, particularly the state officials. Sonny's disdain for the government is especially clear when he explains that he is against taxation.
@kienischneider9862
@kienischneider9862 3 жыл бұрын
That part I find believable under the circumstances. The part I find very hard to believe is that he doesn't kill Vinnie. He's a gangster capable of cold blooded murder. In reality, if he had been betrayed on such a deep level by someone who turned out to be a cop, I can't imagine he'd let the cop live just because he loves him. But it is very touching and too much realism can be depressing.

@christianc.christian5025 7 ай бұрын
@@4TopwoodI don’t think their bond is “brotherhood,” man. It’s pretty deliberately written as intimacy. Even how they met was written like a pick-up scene. “Oops! I spilled soup on your lap!” “Maybe some of what I got is what you want, pal!”

Yeah, it's bullshit that the record labels made them remove the music from re-releases of the show. It was meant to be shown with these songs accompanying it. I don't understand the logic behind amputating the soundtrack from a 35 year old TV show when everybody can just type these songs into KZbin or Spotify anyway. Hopefully, someday, I'll be able to see this episode without some corporation screwing it up. Unfortunately, it'll probably never happen. A damn shame.
