[Fallout-esque] [Muscle Girl] [Atompunk] [Cyberpunk] [Uplifting] [Wholesome] [Reverse Comfort for Depression] [ASMR Roleplay Audio] script by Timeraft
You worry about your companion. Sure, the world is messed up, especially since the, um, apocalypse, but surely it can't be good for one person-mutant, whatever-to brood this much. Hmm. Maybe you'd better go check on her. Again.
* Takes place in the same universe as this video: • [F4A] Clairvoyant Spac...
💚 Thank you so much to Timeraft for the (somewhat silly) story with such a powerful message.
Nightshade's notes: This script resonated with me so powerfully. Because I've felt the way this mutant does so many times in my life. You look at the world and it seems so hopeless. What's the point? And for me, the point is the little things. The small differences you can make that are actually huge. The people whose lives are just a little bit better for me being there. The people I can reach by making these audios, who are able to sleep better, who find it just a little easier to get through their day. The people I'm able to help through my day job, too. Heck, even the retail worker who's a fraction less stressed because I helped load my groceries, smiled, and said thank you when they were expecting to be snapped at about the wait. You're not going to see any of those things on a news report, but they're not small things. They matter. The things you do matter, too.
Also, this is something I try to be open about, because it needs to be destigmatized-seeing a therapist is one of the best things I've ever done for myself. Even if you think "I'm not crazy" or "it's not that bad" - there's no magic threshold for how unhappy a person has to be before they can talk to someone. Even a relatively happy person - which I am, now - can still benefit from having someone to help them work through things. So, you know. Something to keep in mind.
On an unrelated note, I had a lot of fun with the visual effects for this one, especially in the first three minutes or so. I hope you all enjoy them.
Thank you so much for being here, Royal Court, Royal Knights, and loyal listeners. You are all part of what keeps me going.
A message from Timeraft, taken from the script posting: Listen if you ever feel overwhelmed by the insanity of the world I want you to know you're not alone. I'm right there with you. I wanted to write something optimistic, because I feel there's not always a lot of that out there in the universe.... Take care of each other.
I think I played too much New Vegas as a kid dude.

Did you know?There are approximately 200 feral cats roaming the grounds of Disneyland, where they help control the park’s rodent population. They’re all spayed or neutered, and the park’s staff provides them with both extra food and medical care.

Listener: oh my dear… I’m so sorry for all the war you’ve been through, I wish… I wish there was a better way.. but a wise man once said: it’s not about how you were born, it’s about how you chose your own path. War is hell to be in. Soldiers and humanity are two different people. Soldiers are brave warriors, there not like monsters. A brother in law of mine always said: everybody feels sick first time they see somebody in war. Unfortunately, it’s easier to forget about the past and to understand enough who you are now. I really do hope this helps you on your battle. I’m here for you always. Lovely work on artwork and acting our queen. Love it so much. 😊💜😊🫂

Thank you! Honestly, I think that in real life, drama and strong emotion usually do go hand in hand with humor. When people are unhappy, they naturally retreat into jokes. Have you ever been in a situation where something awful has just happened, and yet you and the people around you find yourself telling jokes that are probably horribly inappropriate and you would never want to repeat, because people would think it was in bad taste? Jokes that are funny in that moment and never would be again? It's normal. We all do it. Our minds need a reprieve, and they turn to humor. Anyway, that's one of the main reasons I always come back to Timeraft's writing. That balance of humor and drama comes naturally to them in a way that I envy. Thank you so much for the lovely comment!

@@nightshadequeenasmr Absolutely, that's also why many frown upon the more misguided type of political correctness these days. Of course it's different when somebody's being a dick unwarranted and uses edginess as an excuse, to bully others, but to many people morbid humor is an important coping mechanism. That and honestly, I think it's healthy to get out of your comfort zone, even if it means getting offended from time to time. As longs is it's provocative in a productive way rather than condescending, self-serving mud slinging, it can be good way to help people see things from a different perspective. And yeah, even in fiction it's important to balance different tones, or at least to shake things up here and there as a palate cleanser. All the disturbing, tragic stuff that happens in Berserk for example would be nowhere near as effectve where there not moments of humor quiet rumination to give the reader a breather and humanize the characters. On the other end of the spectrum, I think some of the Marvel movie struggle with keeping a good balance of humor and gravitas. The first Guardians of The Galaxy was really good about it, bur I think in the third Thor movie one could've cut out half the jokes and not only improve the pacing but also make both the remaining jokes and the more serious moments hit a lot harder. It's still a pretty solid popcorn flick, but it could've been much better. Also, thank you for all these great little adventures you're taking us! Even with stories I'm already familiar with, I can always count on that signature Nightshade magic for that extra pizzazz. You're always so good at giving the speaker character that "subtle intensity" and vulnerability, they positively become alive with your performance.

This felt like a weirdly timely script to stumble upon as I'm struggling to not feel too overwhelmed by the pollution and climate change crises.😥 Your video description resonates with me too as someone who works hard to maintain a determined, optimistic spirit following post-pandemic life and a past need to attend therapy to improve her health and wellbeing. Baby steps and appreciating simple things are very much needed - perhaps the listener and this particular mutant women can move forward positively together to build something new in a wasteland. 🌱

Hey @RubyRouge-zj8uw! I'm the author of this script and I just want to tell you that I feel how you feel! I got through COVID by burying myself in work (I was doing several jobs just to keep my mind together) and essentially not dealing with anyone or anything if I could avoid it, I was 100% living solely in the moment. I'm a geologist so I'm also intimately aware of the climate crisis and it's really hard to deal with sometimes. When I wrote this script I had only just emerged from my nothing but survival mindset and I felt like I was entering this post apocalyptic world that I didn't understand and I was this weird creature that didn't belong there anymore. The stuff this character says is pretty much all thoughts I've had. I'm glad it had an effect on you.

@@adblue8955 Wow, I didn’t expect a direct reply like this!😮I can relate to some of what you detail here: I originally was working as much as I could to not only keep myself busy and financially afloat not too long after I graduated, but to attempt to break into the conservation job sector. Eventually, while I was far better off than most during the whole pandemic period, I hit a personal “wall” and I financially couldn’t keep going trying and failing to make that happen… so I had to make the hard decision to pursue a different scientific path this year so I could be more financially stable and have a better quality of life for my future.👍🏻I’ve been taking “baby steps” to submerge myself into the world again without distracting my mind or throwing myself unhealthily into work, so I can understand the “alien-like” feelings of disorientation in social settings (even if I’m starting to improve on that front). From one Internet stranger to another, I appreciate you taking the time to reach out to me, especially being so candid and personal about what inspired you to write this script in the first place!👐🏻 Minimalism, gratitude, and action-based optimism have been my anchors, so I’m already better off than I was in the beginning of this year (even if I’m facing new challenges to better myself). I do what can to still support sustainability, so I express my admiration and appreciation for those like you that do the important work that is needed to better humanity and society. 💚

I spent about an hour typing a long commentary with my thoughts about the world, the past, the future, humanity and all that. And then I deleted it. Because... just because. It doesn't matter. This video is not about problems. But about the fact that you just continue to live and do something, even if it seems pointless. It also immediately made me think of the Fallout series of video games. I personally think Fallouts 1 and 2 are the best, they had atmosphere and not just gameplay. Although I feel that this is rather more inspired by new games with repetitive quests where you are pestered an endless number of times with a request to save someone again or protect a settlement. But putting that aside, I unironically liked the monologue. Although the comedic interruption was funny and very much in the spirit of what Timeraft does in its scripts. I also like the images and music used. It was really well done and everything worked together with your monologue. Perhaps personally I would have chosen a little more depressing and less colorful images, but in the end it’s even better. In the end, this video is not to plunge into depression, but to get out of it. Very good video, I liked it. Thank you.
@nightshadequeenasmr
@nightshadequeenasmr 8 ай бұрын
Honestly, I unironically liked the monologue in the script, too. And so I performed it as though I was really recording an opening monologuing for a game, not going for humor, but taking it seriously. Of course, then the listener pops in, and I responded as realistically as I could as someone who is frustrated by interruptions. And I think the humor comes together on its own. It's a silly thing, to sit alone in the middle of a wasteland and monologue about it, if you actually stop to think about the setting. But as a thing in and out itself? I think the monologue was really well written, could totally be something you'd hear in a real game. I imagine whatever you wrote and deleted was very thoughtful and interesting. I might not have had much to add to it, but I think that thinking those things out in detail probably gives you insight into your own perspective on things. So writing it is a worthwhile endeavor, even if you ultimately decided not to share it. It's probably obvious that this was heavily Fallout-inspired. I had to stick in the 50s-style radio music at the end and everything. I had wanted to have the listener playing the radio as they come and go, but it didn't sound right when 8 tried. So I had to find another way to slip that in. Originally, I intended to use images that were more like what you'd see in those games, but ultimately, it didn't feel right. The pictures I chose for "Eden" were very white and golden, inspired by the look of old newspaper clippings. And then, as I was putting it together, it just felt right to me that the world this character is looking at now should be... more. It needed that visual intensity as a contrast. I don't know if it was the perfect decision, but it was what worked for me. Thank you for another lovely comment. I really appreciate it. ❤️

"What's the point ? And for me, the point is the little things." I couldn't agree more ! Every smile, every little effort one make (like a coffe), day after day, it really pays off. I love these kind of message, because with it lots of people can be better. They're better because they are less stressed, and you are because you made something good. Taking care of yourself in every way counts, like brushing your teeth, eating a balanced cooked meal. Self-love x) I also love stories that share that moral x) "How do i change the world ? -A.R.K. One "Act of Random Kindness." " Almighty Evan. "Sauron thinks that only a great power can hold a great evil in check. But that is not what i've found. I've found it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folks that keeps the darkness at bay. Simple acts of kindness and love." Gandalf - The Hobbit. if i allow myself to share, i have a family member that used to have really dark thoughts. Didn't thought he was worth anything. But night after night, i spent time with him, repeating that he mattered, if only to me. He couldn't "hear" my words (even if they made him feel better), but that little time spent every day was an undeniable proof that i spoke no lies. He made it, and our bond is now stronger than ever ! Everyday kindness. ^^

The sun was setting now. Brilliant oranges, reds and even a touch of indigo as night chased the day. I....well, it doesn't really matter who i am. I was somebody.....once. Now I'm what you could call a "needed item". If you're out here in the wastes, you need to be able to carry everything you need. Extra ammo? Got it. Food that doesn't set off a geiger counter? Right in here. Clean water? No puhroblem. I'm....the Sidekick(tm). I get looks sometimes. Like "Why is he hanging around with the greenskin?' or "He's probably a mutant too." I don't mind. Its worth it if you ask me. She travels to the most interesting places-and I get to tag along. She's pleasant enough; Tall, healthy and strong. Straight of bearing and proud too. She's gotten in her share of fights: lots of folk around the ruins get itchy when "Muties" are around. Big, strong and tough...its why I like her. Sadly, she carries a lot of melancholy around with her-brooding at things lost or just at the general unfairness of what has happened to the world. Sooo.....I keep her fed, hydrated and supplied...and we sit and watch the sunsets together. It's a start, anyway.

Loved it so much 😂 Like she is doing a serious monologue about her past and bro is like “cool story ma’am…. Want some barbecue steak ?” Edit: Her: this is really good. You got it at the right temp. Nice and juicy…. Me: well…. Yea, I wanted to do Fiorentina or Rosticciana (basically 2 dishes or steaks in Italy, specifically in Tuscany, it ain’t barbecue but, something similar, love it) but ye know, without beef we gotta do what we can 😅.

@nightshadequeenasmr
@nightshadequeenasmr 8 ай бұрын
I included cyberpunk in the tags as a reference to the genre, not the game, because I do think it vaguely fits into the cyberpunk genre, even if it's closer to atompunk, really. I keep forgetting that there's a game with that name that people think of first these days. And yeah, it's heavily Fallout-influenced for sure. I don't think she said she's trying to be edgy, did she? But "I'm trying to brood!" is pretty much just as silly. 😁 Thank you for the comment!!
