Awesome video!! Your assessment about mine-rollers looking like doo-doo while the vehicle that it is attached to looks in better shape is quite accurate. Having been around these things for almost 40 years (20 years in military and 20 years working on a military installation as a civilian employee) I do get to see these quite often. Most of the time the mine-rollers & mine-plows will be parked in some obscure corner of the vehicle parking area and FORGOTTEN about. There, they will accumulate an incredible amount of rust, dirt, leaks, and critter nests. Nobody really wants to deal with these things mainly because they are a pain in the butt to maintain, heavy as all get-outs, and a vehicle really cannot maneuver like it should when these things are attached, as well as other reasons. Besides the US Army mentality (at least when I was in 1981-2001) was just to blow through a minefield - you literally could NOT convince a tank unit that a mine-roller/plow will save lives/vehicles. Often times, it is looked down upon IF your vehicle is selected to have a mine-roller/plow attached, like the vehicle & crew suck or are expendable or something like that. In my opinion after being around mine-rollers/plows for so long, you were quite "generous" with the paint fading affect and mud. You probably could add about 10 tons of rust affects on those rollers and still not be "accurate" enough.

Hey Uncle Night Shift, i have some Hobby Boss 1:72 scale aircrafts, (made three out of the fours) and those need Mr.color paints, unfortunatly, I couldn't really find them since I live in France and those aren't really shiped everywhere, so my substitute were Revell Aqua colors and I think it did a great job as replacement paints.

Very nice job! And; excellent techniques. I agree with your choice of paints. AK Real Colors and Tamiya paints are top notch. I have used them interchangeably. Ease of use and best of results. Maybe a slight nod to Tamiya for lesser expense per milliliter. Always find new techniques that I have never used of interest. It's a good Friday when the modeling videos come out. Question, did you not do chipping on the variation of green colors due to how pre-dust would likely overdo the chipping texture entirely, and to balance it out with textures, you only did chipping with pre-dusting? It looks amazing with the pre-dust technique.

Kind of a mixed bag here. All that “make it much faster” stuff can be useful for some low-skill modeller like me. On the other hand, that is not what I come here for. I do want a 4-6 weeks series about making a single model right. I do care that there are some minuscule details on the bottom of the tank mostly hidden by mud and 3-4 other layers of paint. This one… Looks kind of flat and lifeless. Like something made for sale rather than to have for yourself to enjoy. At least for now. Maybe it will improve. But than again not a single other model you have build felt like that before.

Are VMS products only available on their official site? I tried to look for them but only found it there and on some shady ebay auctions. And of course good work in this, really looks almost finished, I guess this method would work extremely well on very small scale models, where there is no place for those extremely detailed weathering, chipping etc.

A have a question as a novice. When doing scratch builds or other add-ons as well as some of the painting. Is this something you do before to uneven start? I.e. Do you take some time before hand to assess what you will do or do you start building then see when and where you can work things in. Painting is kind of the same thing. I see many people get kits put almost completely together before painting whereas I build common sections, paint, then touch up. Just want to get an idea of how best to approach a project. Thanks
