And the way those bones are arranged in a ring is a lot like a menhir ring, which in some lore are locks on a prison trapping an evil inside. Enoch in the Torah was the first person that God saved from death and took into Heaven (didn't have to die). Some apocryphal texts account that he received "secret knowledge" from God. A creative jump in fantasy from that could be necromancy, as i think this basically implies that Enoch was brought back from death, or maybe like marrok, undeath. I think the subtitles even called the soldiers "Night Troopers". Enoch's mask being remade i think explains his voice modulation as i think he originally died by wound to the face, he literally can't talk by himself anymore.

If they are dead bodies in those caskets it could also be that they kept them in the catacombs because it kept them cold without so much wasted power. You don't want decayed soldiers they fall apart much faster. But Ezra could hide easy among a group of creatures that have obviously evolved to camouflage themselves. Those tie fighters are not going to be much use to find organic creatures that likely are hard for even the natives can't find. Fuel could also be low they can't get more supplies. Did you spot that the rebel symbol that the nota was made of wood, not something they had a lot of access too in the environments we saw. There was some but not like they would waste it.

Some thoughts: Thrawn had three destroyers and a full complement of TIES, and after 10 years that one broken down SD with no main engines is all that's left... Bokken sounds like the name of a wooden practice katana, which makes sense, as "wild" Jedi would be seen as not being the full real deal... So good to see our boy Ezra again, it's the payoff for that breathless sensation I had at the end of REBELS... Hearing A LONG TIME AGO ETC. being spoken aloud didn't feel stupid, it made sense... The Purgill Graveyard gave a tremendous sense of scale and perspective to the basic concept of the Purgill... Overall I thought it was a good solid episode with a lot of payoffs...

My theory: the witches are in control of everything going on now. Thrawn, Ezra, and all stormtroopers died when they exited hyperspace. The witches recovered them and brought them all back to life with the understanding that they will get whatever they want from these people now. They enlist Thrawn to get them out of the Galaxy under the threat of taking their lives away, and if they die, they all die because they cannot control the spell. This will be important later as Ashoka will have to make the hard choice of killing the Night Sisters knowing that Ezra also can’t live without their magic. Eventually she will kill them and make the sacrifice. Therefore, Thrawn and Ezra and everyone else will be gone and will never have to interrupt the current cannon of StarWars.
