I'm gonna get all sappy and sobby here but frick it. I'm one of the too many suffering from depression, and a frequent struggle of finding "a point" of doing basic essential things to keep my life going. This song brings me to tears. It's not only beautiful, but it reminds me of the people who are always there to pick me up. The ones who care. Good friends, great family and wonderful partner. This track gives me strength in a time when I need it. And I hope it can do the same for others too. You don't need to do it alone. Thank you, Floor, Tuomas, Marco, Emppu, Troy and Kai. I've listened to this many times and each time I notice another little thing about it that I love. It really feels like Nightwish is reaching out to anyone who is going through a hard time, saying, "We're here, you're not alone. You'll be okay. There's hope." I've suffered from depression, anxiety, ADHD, and panic attacks and had suicidal thoughts for several years, and this song feels like a gentle embrace and a reminder that there are people who care, that my illnesses can be beaten. "Burn the rope and dance some more/Dull the blade and dance some more," they are saying, don't give up, don't end your life, we're here and we care, keep going. It gets better. Thank you Tuomas, Marko, Emppu, Troy, Kai, and Floor for this beautiful song and message. You guys are bringing hope in a dark time. We love you!

At first, for me, it was just a typical Nightwish's radio-friendly song. But there is something in the lyrics that speaks to me as i listnen to it over and over. That one simple message , the thing we often forget on a daily basis: kindness. How beautifl this world would be if every single person in the world could care for another? It's just a simple question - "How's the heart?", but this simple question could be all someone may need.

I have had to deal with a lot of depression and crushing anxiety. Part of why I'm on disability, a "gift" from insomnia and chronic illness. It fluctuates, some days can be very dark, some are merely grey. But Tuomas has put the color back for me. Nightwish sparkles my scenery, tucks me in under the blue. They fend off the swinging pendulum, dull the blade and burn the rope. It's like Tuomas has been rummaging around in my head, finding things that need to be dragged out and whacked hard with a shovel.

But because of a few people in my life, they inspired me to keep going. I see Elize, so need to give thumps up. The entire album is getting even better the more I am listening. Even the NWO needed to let the truth pass because it is hidden as art. So the album hit No.1 on Germany's LP-charts on its first entry. Big "Noise", only comparable with those from 911, all around the globe, although, according to the world's first known scientific study in Heinsberg (Germany's epi-centre of Corona), where they had a representative sampling of both, healthy and infected ppl by excluding of infected ppl who died on heart attack, strokes and else, both infection rate and death rate are not different from ordinary flu, so what ? Like at 911 it's not about the evidence, it's all about the measures that will remain to get us one more step into the brave new world. Along with 5g, nano tech and more monitoring technique, we are all witnessing the prequel of the Matrix trilogy: "How did mankind get into the matrix ?"

Nightwish was a surprise discovery for me. Somehow in the late 90's I was watching a show called "The Snowman" (likely because my first born was in 1996). I heard the song "Walking in the Air" (don't even know which recording) and fell in love with the song. Later I decided to look it up and of all places I found it listed on a Nightwish album called "Oceanborn". I went to my local music store and had to order the album - it shipped from overseas - and finally arrived a few weeks later. As a progressive / classic rock fan and a professional (back then) grade trombonist I already had a wide musical pallet. This exposed me to something I had never heard - I loved it - and even now I'm waiting for the latest album to ship. I like all lineups of the band and so far I'm grateful they are still making music. :-)

The other aspects of this song that I love are Troy’s pipes played along with the guitar before the verses of the song! The drumming is nice and tight, and does a really amazing job at keeping the song together! He just said few words, and he asked "How's the heart?". I didn't know yet that it was the title of new song but something in his voice and in this short warm heart message gave me hope, courage and faith to continue with my life. This band sincerely and deeply cares about the fans. Thank you for being what you are, Nightwish.

Been waiting for that moment of Floor's at 4:02 since she joined the band. And that operatic part at Shoemaker.. This album is pure masterpiece.

Nice story: the second verse of this song is actually written by Tuomas for Floor, describing her experience of meeting the love of her life (her hasband) and having her daughter ( a child of light). Really beautiful.

Radio Finland plays listeners requested songs every day at midnight for an hour. They have pretty much ignored the new NW album on Radio Finland. A few hours ago they finally played "How's the heart" on my request. Fifth or sixth time I asked them to play it. Sounded really good. Yess!

Nightwish ignored in Finland ?? Why ??
@Idefixu4 жыл бұрын
@@massimilianovincioni1153 No idea! Of course I was only talking about YLE's (Finnish broadcasting company) Radio Finland, but it is the number one radio station in Finland, most listeners. And it is taxpayer funded. They play many kinds of music, but maybe NW songs are too long. Tuomas doesn't write typical 3 minute songs. "How's the heart" is 'only' 5 minutes.

At times the drum beat sounds like a heart beat, especially when the ulliean pipes are playing then Floor sings at one point like the beat of a heart 😍. Maybe I'm listening too much into it. I love finding and hearing these little things ❤ so many layers and details in these songs xx This song has saved me. I've been waking up for the past few nights with this song playing in my head. I cry at the second verse every time. Its such a beautiful song. Thank you Tuomas and Nightwish ❤

This song is so good and comforting. I've been dealing with suicidal thoughts for a while, so that might have an impact on my interpretation, but "drowning in the mire" "burn the rope and dance some more" "dull the blade and dance some more" hit close to home. Thanks Nightwish for constantly making awesome music !! So far my fav songs from this album are Noise, Harvest, Shoemaker, How's the Heart, the Green, the Blue and Ad Astra. I think the other songs are cool too and I have to relisten to them to really appreciate them, but I'm too busy listening to my fav songs

When I first started listening to Nightwish it was mostly their older stuff so I was of course "Team Tarja" (will always love her though and she has the best Christmas album ever!) But as time goes by and I listen to Floor not only covering old Nightwish but also performing masterpieces such as this song, I now feel that not only is she my personal favorite of the Nightwish leads, she is truly one of my favorite singers of all time! Her range and versatility are just unreal and so very preciously rare. Floor, you are what Nightwish was waiting for!! 🥰🤘❤️

My sentiments exactly. And can come only from an old NW fan. Though tbh the more "unprejudiced" ones are the ones that met the band recently and so they are not clouded by old experiences. For us the old fans takes sometime to get there. And some will never get there...because whatever 😂

Another outstanding album. I'm 53 being a drummer I have listened and played with a whole array of music. But for the last 15 years Nightwish have been my number one music fix. This album has many many different and difficult arrangements, but it all runs so smoothly in a perfect rhythm; A sea of melody if you will! I would personally like to say to Kai, great stick and kick combination man, really great stuff. wow! Floor, your vocals just left me speechless and a small tear to my eye at times. Emppu's riff's really gets the blood pumping, air guitar galore. Marko, thunder roaring bass licks are fantastic. Love your work Troy. Tuomas, well what can anyone say, you are the master, enough said! On a personal note I do miss Emppu solo's, more guitar solo's next time please.

How’s the heart? Is it suffering? Is it in pain? Is it broken? Even when you feel all this, your heart is still whole. Your heart is still beating meaning you’re still standing. Deep down there is a light inside your heart that is burning and shining brightly cause you didn’t lose hope. Even in the darkest and deepest despair, your heart will continue to beat for hope and love with people that care for you by your side.
