Nightwish is their own genre and no other band comes close to the level they are at. ❤ Never, in the history of music entertainment, have a set of skills and talent collided in such powerful manner. Tuomas is a true genius as a composer and with lyrics.

Floor is not trained in opera. She is a trained classical singer. But she could sing the whole phonebook and I would still listen to her all day. Tuomas wrote and played on piano this loving tribute to his deceased father who passed about 3 yrs ago. It is a song about loves lost and ancestors known and unknown and the eternal dance of life from birth to death and rebirth.

You hit the nail on the head. The song starts out sad, but like Tuomas stated the song was never suppose to be sad, but a love song and a celebration of life and relationships.

If there has been a better vocal performance and a better song in the last 50 years, then I have not heard them. Stunning does not even go halfway to describing this. Even after 25 plays, I am still brought to tears. Thank you, Floor.

You should definitely also check out "An Ocean Of Strange Islands". It's a wild ride, that has EVERYTHING in it - on par with legendary classics like "Ghost Love Score" and "The Poet and the Pendulum".

Hi Jesse. Love Floor's lower register. FYI Lucy will be 1 in a month. Love Floor's hand movements. Floor's voice is just another instrument

Not able to listen to this with dry eyes, it goes straight to your soul. It’s so fragile and strong at the same time. What a gorgeous piece of music composed by Tuomas and so emotionally sung by Floor.

I feel like this song is a ode to everyone who lost theier parrents!! Floor sings the sentence, i was the one who climbed of your back not long ago, same words used in the song Our decades in the sun, and that song is surely a ode to our parrents, that basicly why i say its about lost parrents, who became stardust.. Could be a song written by tuomas to hes father, who died in 2021.. I love this song, this and a Ocean of strange islands is my 2 favorites from new album.

It's a beautifully retrospective song, as is appropriate given the subject matter. It is the proper order of things for parents to die before their children, and a tragedy when it happens the other way round; but that doesn't make it any less painful. As you say, we can remember the happy times before the collision, our meadows of heaven, while yet mourning their passing. Father, you are forever in me.

I read somewhere Tuomas challenged Floor on this latest album to explore more of her lower register.

If you want to dehydrate fast you can have a cocktail of Nightwish "Lanternlight" mixed with a bit of Pau's "Breathe" (Pepsi Center version obviously) and a pinch of Lara's "Broken Vow"... massive tears assured.

Beautiful song, which sounds like one of her songs called Warchild.
