The lyrics is a letter of acceptance, transformation, and release. "I am the snow in your palm" speaks of how, when we die, we never truly leave; we become part of the nature of the universe. In this way, we transform into something eternal and far greater and more important than human existence. The light of those people from the past will accompany us in those small details that always bring us peace-gazing at the stars, the snow in your palm. I'm really crying. 🥺

👍Nice man,Not everything is metal with Nightwish,it never was,this is putting the focus on Tuomas as composer and Floor as a vocalist and it shows again,how they are truly masters of their craft. For me this song is about living our lives and than we die but,we always leave something behind. Beautifull song.🤘

This is another Tuomas Holopainen masterpiece. He only keeps on getting better as his talent and vision matures. Absolutely stunning. This composition is as deep as the Marianas Trench and has more layers than a baklava. I'm 73 and the last man standing in my family. I understand the loss, yet I still live with hope and intent. Nevertheless, Floor's voice and this composition is akin to an emotional depth charge to the heart. Her face, good Lord, her face so expressive and adorned with nothing save her heart and soul just melts me to my core. Some of you get it. Some of you don't. I do, and that's all that matters. Kiitos to all of you in Nightwish for delivering such epic and emotional story telling.

This song is an outright masterpiece. Tuomas wrote it when his father passed. My parents have both passed, but their spiritual beliefs have been passed on to all of my siblings....and their love has shaped my life! In my 67 years, I have never been so inspired by a song like "LanternLight." Tuomas....your brilliance shines on all of us! Floor Jansen, I cannot describe how your beautiful voice touches my heart! Floor didn't write this. She doesn't write any Nightwish songs. This is Tuomas' memorial to his father, who passed away around the time the new album was being written.

talks about peace and happiness right on that moment where you would see in the video (4m20s) just for some seconds the sad emotional Floor tearing up, touching her heart. Also, you seem to not have seen anything behind Floor. It is a movie projector showing memories of the lost and dear. It is funny how people see but do not see at all 🙂An issue we have more and more in todays world. The description of the song and video has been posted many times already in your comments. She is educated in classical singing. And Tuomas is calling her the final vocalist. If she in any way should leave, there will no longer be Nightwish. That's how important Floor have become for the group, or the project Nightwish, as i call it. Because it's no longer a group, but an ongoing project who comes up with new ideas. There's mo other group like Nightwish, it's in a league of their own. When other groups tries to reach up to their level, Nightwish has moved forward.
