This band is amazing! I’m 71 and just found Nightwish and I can’t get enough. I play them everywhere, in the car, taking a shower! Late at night, and mostly on my walks everyday! I need to play catch up on all their songs! I want to be in the Nightwish army!

The keyboards drums bass guitar and voice in that special period from 2012 through 2013 was probably Nightwish at their absolute best I don't think I've seen or heard them better that was kind of like pure Magic

One exception: Facebook. I mentioned I didn't like the newest of the three long masterpieces because it was kinda boring by Nightwish standards (The one that's just basically about evolution). I got called unevolved, a science hater, basically chased off the fan club. Later got a DM from someone saying they had their own NW fan club for actual adults and I was like "bruh, if you can't chastise ill-behaved children, you aren't adults. I'll go back to liking this band without the approval of tourists". (Been a fan since 2005, long before Floor made everyone go ga-ga). And I /tried/ to like it. It eas just so boring. I cant even remember the name of that song because I really, really dont like it. My personal preference aside, I dont think anyone is a fan of something if they have no standards.

a little over a year ago for me. Phanton came up on my KZbin recommends and just began playing. I remember looking up going WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE. NIGHTWISH FOREVER. It's amazing how some artists can so appeal to your heart. Jim Steinman was there for me for decades. Now it is Nightwish

The melody is a mix of Celtic and of Finnish folk songs - the bagpipe with flute and the kantele (sound) add to the effect. Such a masterpiece. I have no words to comment the lyrics.

2 years later and probably irrelevant at this point, but those are uileann pipes, not bagpipes. You dont blow into these pipes and they are more associated with Irish traditional music, while bagpipes are more Scottish associated

But true, the Scottish folk took the name first, so we did have to come up with another name for this. I've met the word uilleann (said like 'elian') pipes after that comment. Me! Jukka's tone, energy and groove are irreplaceable. Such a showman and my favorite drummer ever. He always knew what sounds great and Nightwish, and had a great tone on his drums. It's unfair to say this, because Kai is awesome drummer (technically even better than Jukka), but I really miss Jukka. NW is not the same without him.
