There are a few misconceptions about metal that scare a lot of folks away. 1: Metal music is all dark and depressing lyrics. NW: hold my wine while we release an entire album about the joy and wonder of life and creation. 2: you cant dance to Metal. NW: watch our lead singer bop to every song in our collection and also for good measure halfway through our concert we will play you a instrumental that will have you dancing a jig. 3: you cant understand heavy metal vocals as they distort their voices too much. NW: hmmm not a problem we can fix that , and english is not even our native tongue.

Great reaction. If you want to hear more of the folkier side of Nightwish (Uilleann pipes, tin whistles, etc) try I Want My Tears Back from Wacken 2013, Elan From Wembley, or AlpineGlow or My Walden from Tampere.

They're Uilleann pipes...Uilleann is the IRISH word for "elbow". He's pumping a bellows with his elbow to get air in the bag, hence the name. I may be biased (:)), but it's a much more expressive/emotive instrument than the Highland War Pipes, imho. This is usually played as instrumental - but they have Finnish lyrics for this, the early period Nightwish had a few Finnish songs when the band was all Finnish. Now they have as well a Dutch singer and the English Troy. Maybe that's the reason he doesn't wear kilt - they are clan specific, so outsiders have it hard to pick one. Don't know if the clan kilts have to be gifted, or what you find in stores are not authentic. Or then you become a fan of a certain clan when buying a kilt :) I don't know enough of them to say, if there is a general Scotland kilt. But what I know it's a bit more than just a skirt, it continues with the part going over the shoulder. Haven't seen that song sang in a concert video. It's about nature and wilderness, and yearning there, and feelings you get when walking there. That Finnish version is called Erämaan viimeinen - if you want to check, to hear the emotions.

This song is known as "A JIG on CRACK!!!!!" Hey Grammy the G-mail is a great idea for suggestions BUT I would insist that if you are making a suggestion you HAVE to include the link, as a guest act like one and help out the host. I can't tell you how many times subs have complained on other channels when the host does the suggestion but not the right video they wanted. These are Celtic bagpipes so you pump the air into the instrument instead of blowing it in. This is the "Floor changing song", she is busy changing from Xena warrior in leather pants to Valkyrie Goddess in the leather miniskirt. You can see if you watch the concert that this song ended a little too soon and Floor has to run out for the next number (Bless the Child) after she changes!!! I was LMAO thinking of Troy in a Kilt!!!! (BTW he is Welsh so he doesn't qualify for a kilt (LOL)) But Marco has wore a kilt in concert when he duets with other vocalists. Sadly the drummer, Jukka, hasn't been in the band for the past few years after being struck down with chronic insomnia. He still works with the band in a business capacity. I believe he is actually their accountant. No word on whether he is well enough yet to rejoin them on their next album.

Jukka is not coming back to the band. He has is insomnia under control and band life isn't very good for his condition. No regular hour to go to bed. Sleeping in buses isn't good for his severe insomnia.
