At the end, FYI: Floor gestures to the man in the high hat, Tuomas Holopainen. He plays all the keyboards, composes 95% of the music. Tuomas is 6'2", Marko Hietala (bassist/vocals) is 5'11". Lead guitar is Emppu Vuroinen, 5'3". He and Floor always kid around. Floor is a shade over 6', but wears 4" heels when performing, so their occasional dances together are a hoot. Every member of the band, including the drummer (Jukka Nevaleinen) replacement, Kai Hahto, is a master musician. Nightwish is like an all-star team, every player tops at their position. And I love you guys enthusiasm for music.

@argantyr51544 жыл бұрын
Nightwish had to change Drummer, because of Health reasions (Jukka have problems with Insomnia, but is still a part of the Management of Nightwish). So far you have heard both Floor & Marko singing, but Troy besides being able to play large number of instruments (from Flute, Guitar, uilleann pipes) also sings, but mainly on some of their more "Folk/Celtic" inspired Songs. I would suggest Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean or I want my Tears back (both from Bueno Aires 2018). If you want to hear Marko shine, try The Islander or Kiss while your lips are still red (more quite songs), Nighwish have also done a cover of Pink Floyds - High Hopes thats also amazing. And as you most likely have figured out, Nightwish is good on Studio Records, but its Live they really shines, so if given the choise alway choose live versions, you cannot go wrong with anything from Wacken 2013, Wembley & Tampere 2015, or Bueno Aires 2018, those Concerts are legendary.

The author John Ringo wrote a book series that stemmed from THAT line, the Black Tide Rising books; military fiction with zombies caused by a virus...twist is they're not DEAD, just mindless, violent, and hungry. It's great escapist fiction, hilarious spots, and the "Light a candle" section in the third book can bring tears to your eyes. It's good.

What's God, if not, the spark that started life? well - maybe more, but that's what we can detect. And then this 'It's hard to light a candle easy to curse the dark instead'. Really like in the deepest dark you see a spark of light surprisingly far. And even a small candle gives so much light.

Gonna mentioned a bunch of facts before this magical, legendary evening at Wacken Open Air in 2013. Floor had before stepping in as a "temporary singer" been out for a long time, suffering from a burnt out state of mind. During that time she had lost all her stage confidence. The guys in Nightwish never saw that as any problem, and they even stated: "We are gonna get that confidence back up in Floor, nothing else matters at this point". And this is more a guess then anything,as i never saw a statement about it but......i think Nightwish had this concert in Wacken in mind,a future goal once she accepted to join them permanently. It was her first major concert with them as a permanent singer,so Marco had the honor of introducing her early on in the concert. Imagine the nerves, the pressure on her behalf as well. But the guys in Nightwish were confident they had restored Floor back to her old self, and the rest is history. One of the best concerts with any band i have ever seen and heard, and the production is just flawless too! The guys in Nightwish has allways been a bunch of genuine, good guys with plenty of humor etc. But i noticed the massive difference after Floor joined. I watched back other live performances with Tarja and the few there is with Anette, and the guys`s good mood seems medium or hardcore suppressed. I even have a friend that got to interview them once during the Tarja era,and him having a crush on Tarja and maybe focusing "alot" on her,she sort of came off abit Diva-ish,and the other guys just tried theyr outmost to look like professionals, but a few of them had expressions, hand and body movement like "oh,here we go again....". They did not look relaxed and comfortable! I did not use to see this back then,i was a massive Tarja supporter myself......i guess i was blind in many ways. Floor Jansen showed me this massive change, without even having it as her agenda, she just is her own sweet, adorable, funny, sassy, charming self with a stage performance, and vocal performances noone else comes remotely close to. I noticed Tarja being more and more "cold" to theyr crowds of live audiences, everything was about herself, not the band kind of. I dont mention Anette much in all of this, because she is not to blame really. They tried to move on from Tarja with Anette, and she did her best....sadly it didnt last,as i think she was never meant to do metal. She got a good pop even rock voice, but metal just deafened her live. No disrespect though, she tried her best. Floor has allways had a huge heart, she loves connecting to her supporters in the crowd or through other platforms. She does naturally what Tarja didnt. Thats why soo many old Tarja supporters turned around completely when Floor joined. Take Ghost Love Score f.ex,it took Floor 1 evening in Wacken to have The Nightwish Army rename it "Ghost Love Floor". We could also see it on the guys in Nightwish. The guys have never looked more relaxed, you can see it on theyr faces that "we finally got the singer we dreamt of having, over all theese years!" Tuomas himself said something that speaks volume: "Floor will be the last vocalist in Nightwish",explaining it with "If she for some reason dediced to leave the band,Nightwish will be no more." He also meant "There is no better vocalist out there for Nightwish" with that statement. Troy that joined them permanently with Floor coming in,said in a interview "i did not like Nightwish`s first vocalist". Something tells me Troy when hearing Floor sing went "im gonna accept to join the band myself!". He has been helping Nightwish for a long time prior to this, you can hear alot of pipes and stuff on records, before he was a official member. The harmony, the smiles on everyones faces (wich only happened after Floor joined) & the chemistry does speak volume for Floor as a person too. She healed up,improved and just completed a allready great band. Now its a amazing band! A band in wich other bands own supporters are jealous of,as every member is so insanely talented, and they complete eachother perfectly. Nightwish started out with childhood friends more or less, that grew in different directions. Today? Today Nightwish is a family! They treat eachother like family. I like how you said it "you can tell that they love eachother". Btw,i loved Jons facial expression changes throughout this song!🤣That was pretty much me by myself, first time hearing them. I think this was the first performance you were properly introduced to her many longlasting, legendary windmills. I have heard vocalists of all genres go: "How on earth doesnt Floor get dizzy from that?! When i try that,i can never go for that long,or im gonna fall over, mess up my performance". Since you love her sass, maybe you should watch her enter the stage, catwalking with confidence to the start of a song: Nightwish - Shudder Before The Beautiful (OFFICIAL LIVE) One of theyr heavier songs, and one of my favourites.

That was very well written, and I totally agree. I did know Floor from After Forever and actually preferred them over Nightwish, while Tarja's stage performance was not my cup of tea - great operatic voice, but no versatility and to diva acting for me (I know it was her husband who made her do that - but!!) After Forever - Floor and the guys (and girls) - completely different. Floor had the direct communication with the crowd already then. But when she entered Nightwish - both her and the rest of Nightwish evolved - and still do!!! I am so looking forward to see them performing their new album live - Floor had already invited all of us to a skeleton competition - and she might even do The Shoemaker!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘

Although it is correct that Floor had not been Public-ally announced at that time they already asked her to become full fledged member after a few weeks. Floor has said so in a interview. They even recorded the moment they asked her to stay on by the same people that recorded the tour. All members are sitting down when you see Floor walk in to frame. You get the impression that someone asked her to go there. Everybody immediately turns and looks at her. She looks kind of puzzled. Kind like what's going on here but before she can say anything it is Tuomas that speak up and says something like "Since we are all here now how would you guys feel if we turn this quartet in to a sextet". A broad smile on Floor's face answered that question quickly. Although quickly added that she would not tell anybody except her close friends and family at the time. It was not until many months later that they made a public announcement. The reaction on Troys face was also kind of funny. It is clear that they informed him that they were going to ask Floor to stay on but left the "little" detail that he was going to be asked aswell. :-) I still do not understand why they left that out of the documentary.

The amazing thing is that when most of those fans bought their tickets, Floor wasn't singing for Nightwish, and by this stage (badoom, Tish!) she had been with them 10 months and was still just the fill-in lead singer to allow them to complete their contractual obligations in completing the Imaginaerium world tour. I'm pretty sure it was the largest audience she had ever performed for. It was (as you can see) a perfect match and she had by that time become integrated into the band and an indispensable presence on stage. A few weeks later, after the end of the tour, she (along with troy Doneckly) became permanent members. The rest, as they say, is herstory.

Last song at the Wacken 2013 concert. Where to go from this - Why not the first song, the one that set the pace for the concert, "Dark Chest Of Wonders" (sorry, on my mobil, don't have the link right now). Other things worth mentioning to someone who see Nightwish for the first time - 82.000 in the crowd, Floor is 183 cm (6 ft 1?) plus 3-4 inches of heels, and I think the picks the lead/rhytm guitarist throws out has "Nightwish" printed on one side and his name "Emppu" on the other side. Nice reaction! FYI: There were 82,000+ in the audience. Nightwish is the most reacted to artist or band in the history of music reactions videos. Floor is the 3rd and still current female lead singer of Nightwish (est. 1996) She had been with the band for little over 10 months at the time of this concert on 03 August 2013, when she was 32. She started performing in her first Metal Band, After-Forever at the age of 16. After that band disbanded, she started her own band called Revamp. Which was on hiatus, when she received a call from Nightwish to take over the female lead singing duties mid-tour. The rest is herstory.

When she picked it up she could hear that it was Tuomas but as you can imagine she was a bit distracted so she said can you call me back tomorrow? He politely said sure. A few minutes later he send her a text message that said something like "All we wanted to ask is if you would interested in taking over the function of the vocalist from Anette?. She immediately went outside and called him back. She was on a plane to the U.S. a few hours later. The next show was 2 days later and she only had 1 rehearsal with the band a few hours before her first show and nailed it.

That's how you close a show in front of an 82k attendance concert. 😀

Great reaction . Welcome John, You have had your first Floorgsm. Suzi....It's kind of a thing with the hair. She does not head bang or hair whip. She is Dutch, she Windmills ! LOL Looking forward to you next reaction. Being band members you appreciate what they have been able to create.

What puzzles me most (...not really anymore) is that Floor windmills like no tomorrow and then in a sec sings those exquisite and often difficult lines totally on point! Talk about control. An unprepared soul like mine would have a hard time returning to the body after such a workout, let alone singing anything. (:D

when Floor whips her hair, being she is Dutch we call it her Dutch Windmill

You can hear bits of other album songs as part of the outro but instrumental, is so pretty

6:00 that's actually a pretty accurate way to describe the symphonic metal genre in a nutshell.

If someone didn't already say it the photo that they were taking at the end was used for the cover of the CD and DVD for this concert.

Allmost forgot.....Jon seemed to really enjoy the fireworks and pyrotechnics being on point with the beats in the song. If you ever invite him over again for a Nightwish reaction, you should try: Nightwish Dark Chest Of Wonders Live Wacken 2013. Its the first song they kicked off the concert with. It will leave you both jawdropping im sure.

The whole Wacken 2013 concert is epic and legendary. Starts with Dark Chest of Wonders, and then there’s Song of Myself and Ghost River among some you haven’t done yet. Marko and Floor are awesome together in those songs. 🤟🤟✌️✌️
