I got into Nightwish earlier this year around February...honestly, after going through their songs over the months, I also concluded that this has to be my favorite band ever. And I don't throw that phrase around lightly. (At age 44, I've seen and heard many many many bands and being a classically trained musician, on cello, I have heard great music but Nightwish is absolutely amazing) This Wacken show might be the best love performance there is!

Same here, it still bugs me how much of an impact this band had on me. It even changed my music taste in a way, I used to care a lot about long solos and instrumentals in rock/metal music, but now I can just listen to Floor sing all day, and can appreciate good arrangements that don't need certain instrument taking the spotlight. Can't say they are my absolute favourite but they are up there for sure.

Here's parting gift news :). Tuomas is now full member of Finnish Epic Black Metal band Darkwoods my Betrothed ! They are childhood friends and Tuomas was their session keyboardist back in the 90's. Here's short English comment from the band : Darkwoods My Betrothed are back and stronger than ever! A new album has been written with 8 songs that we feel are the best in the band's history. They will be recorded in February with the original line-up from 1993 with the notable exception that drums will be played by none other than Mr Kai Hahto and Mr Tuomas Holopainen is now a full member in the line-up. The album will be produced by Mr Tero Kinnunen who, of course, recorded our first demo tape back in 1993. So it's the old gang back together creating havoc and mayhem! Here's full story (In Finnish so you can practice your Finnish): www.soundi.fi/uutiset/metallipioneeri-darkwoods-my-betrodhed-palaa-pitkalta-levytystauolta-tuomas-holopainen-on-nyt-mukana-vakiojasenena/

Yeah, the song was definitely fitting for the last Nightwish Wednesday! I'm sad to see it go but happy you'll still do Nightwish reactions from time to time. Exited to see more Sabaton on your channel from now on. Next time, you should do Beauty and the Beast (kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGXXgnyPorB5j5I), it's very old school Nightwish. Tarja was still the main vocalist, Marko isn't here yet (the bassist is Sami Vänskä) and Emppu isn't using his famous EV-1. *gasps* The video features Tony Kakko from Sonata Arctica and we all should says thanks to Tony, because he convinced Tuomas not to quit on Nightwish when he had problems with Sami back in the days. There is a great "chance" that without him we wouldn't be there still enjoying new Nightwish songs.

Not announced yet, but I think they already knew it was settled, NW hit the jackpot with her and Floor felt right at home from the beginning.. There's also a story Thomas always wanted Floor as the replacement for Tarja but didn't want to break up her band After Forever back in 2005 so they went for another singer which ended up being Anette.. Also Floor was already in the business for 15 years at this point in 2013 with her previous bands After Forever and Revamp, so it was not really something new for her, just another band and crowd.. She was born to do this.. :P

Both shows were fantastic but I have to say it took a few moments of "Wait a minute...." before I realized it was Floor and not Annette up on the Sodo stage. Btw, SODO is short for South Downtown (as there is another Showbox venue, called Showbox Market near the famous Pike Market area of downtown Seattle). "It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead." One of those Nightwish lyrics that has stayed me with me for years. The meaning behind the line is obvious: at its core, it's hard to be optimistic and hopeful and not give in to the ease of resentment and bitterness. Despite how elementary it is (and how prevalent the message is throughout our life; we are constantly told to 'look at the brighter side of things'), it's easier said than done.

I recently picked up the 5 disc Vehicle of Spirit set, 3 DVDs, Wembley Show, Tampere Show and Extras with the audio of the live Wembley show on 2 CDs. "Last Ride of the Day" is sandwiched between "Ghost Love Score" and "The Greatest Show on Earth" as the last three tracks of Wembley. I have always enjoyed my daily commute, it is MY TIME and usually about 40-45 minutes and it is my podcast and music time. I listened to the live audio the last two days of my commute and finished up CD 2 this morning and this track is the one I have heard the least of Nightwish and DAMN, what a great live track. After having made my way through all of the Nightwish studio albums and now the live releases, as brilliant as ALL of the singers are, THE DRUMS AND BASS man, especially on the live shows just DRIVE this band so consistently. They are all excellent musicians, but as a comparison to other live shows I've seen, my head keeps going back to Iron Maiden and how Steve Harris' bass and that galloping sound drives Maiden, especially how you FEEL them at a live show. I guess i need to figure out how to make it to one of the LA shows in October! ;) Thanks again Tank, have enjoyed going back through your reactions on your Nightwish Wednesday journey.

Great reaction vid! I think one of the reasons Jukka is so fun to watch is that, as much as any other drummer I've seen, he manages to be a dancer at the same time. Very impressive body language while drumming. Another thing that makes this band special is the extra-mile things they do for the fans like including an instrumental version of the albums with most of their more recent releases. "Imaginaerum" went so far as to also include an orchestral disc arranged by Pip Williams. He also arranged an orchestral medley of the album. That's the music you are hearing in the outtro of this concert during the credits.

Damn it. I'm crying. Again. Thanks Tank. that was so cool. Edit: sorry, forgot something, one thing the European bands always do that American bands pretty much never do is come out for a curtain call style bow. The fans thank them for the show and they thank the fans for coming. It is so beautiful to see that. Sorry edit two: 25 weeks ago, "I'm sorry my mind was not blown." Now, "my favorite band of all time. " LOL. Yup. We ALL saw that coming. Thanks for being you, Tank.

This is definitely in my top 3 Nightwish songs. Would probably be one of the most reacted to songs if the original with correct speed and millions of views didn't get taken down and buried into their huge discography. It just has that epic but melancholy feel to it, like you are charging into a certain death to save the day.

It was indeed a fitting ending to the Nightwish Wednesday. About wardrobe: Did you know that Floor gives all her dresses away she used on stage? I find that very cool because she always has beautiful dresses on stage. A recommendation would be one of their resently released older stuff. Its stuff from around the beginning of this century.

My best friend walked down the aisle to this song when she got married six years ago. I was one of the bridesmaids. She also has a part of the chorus tattooed on her. Safe to say this song means a lot to both of us.

Looking forward to Sabaton Saturdays. As I’m sure you noticed already, they’re such hams on stage...I always say when you see them you get a concert and a comedy sketch for the price of one. 😂

The band are just special. Same here with the emotions they evoke. We're just going into a 3rd major lockdown in England. I have tickets to see them in May 2021. I'm hoping that we don't get cancelled but I fear that we will. Stay safe

I'm with you man. I've known of Nightwish for years, and it wasn't until I started watching these reaction videos that I finally gave them a chance. And they are definitely a favorite of mine now. They are truly special, and after 8 months since I first listened to them, I'm still kicking my own ass for sleeping on them for all these years.

Sad to see it's last Nightwish Wednesday. It's been something I look forward to each week, although because I'm in Australia, it's been Nightwish Thursday lol. My 14 month old son also loves Nightwish, he gets entranced and jigs along too. Pretty much ever since he was born, he'd fall asleep easily to Nightwish when he was unsettled, and he smiles when he sees your face come up on the screen now too. Nightwish is a very special band, and I feel that your videos are special as well. Keep up the good work 🤘

Tank thank you for letting me take this adventure with you. I love Nightwish and you made the adventure even better. I was a little melancholy watching the last Nightwish Wednesday. Thank you again for your hard work and one day I hope to see a purple ESP EV-1 on your wall.

I totally agree with you on the emotions, I'm only into Nightwish for a little longer than you and Chase but its just blown me away. I'm not a huge music fan normally but this is something more than music. I dont go to concerts or such but Nightwish will change that. I -have- to see them live with my daughter. The only other band I wish I had seen live is Dire Straits.

About that last phrase: what's interesting, it's not gonna disappear or fade out as the years pass. If you love them - it's forever) 20 years ago I thought that it was just a phase)) ha. Nope.

“It is hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead” is one of my favorite lyrics from any song of any band ever, not just Nightwish and I was hoping you’d talk about the color of the flames, was wondering why they were so red, THANKS
