It's so much fun watching you become one of the family. I found Nightwish in the early days and walked away because of the heavy opera style singing, just can't stomach opera and the stuffy sound. I found Floor in After Forever and loved what she did. I didn't realize until late that they had come together and they're now my all-time favorite band. Floor became a Goddess in Nightwish, and Nightwish became the greatest band on the planet with Floor. In my mind, the key component is Tuomas. His compositions are several levels above any body else on the planet, and Floor has given him an instrument with a whole new color gamut with which to create masterpieces. Tuomas challenges Floor, and Floor challenges Tuomas. It is the symbiotic relationship that has made the world a better place. This is not to minimize the incredible virtuosity of Emppu, Marco, Troy, Jukka N., Kai and now Jukka K. - masters all! Thank you for sharing your journey with us, and your passion is amazing. It reminds me of my discovery of my all-time favorite band. One of the best parts is that they are just such wonderful human beings!!

I'm so glad that you are really getting into Nightwish. You are just at the beginning of your journey and there is so much to discover. The thing about Nightwish is that no matter how heavy they get, there is always good melody forming the base of the song. Tuomas is such a genius that you go into each new song with a feeling of "what am I going to discover now?" Nightwish songs are all so unique that you never get bored with the sense that you have heard it all before.

If you like their heavier stuff, I highly recommend "Yours Is An Empty Hope" from their 2015 Wembley concert. A killer song about internet trolls, and you get to hear Floor growl :)

Unfortunately, in reactions to this concert, a song that is very beautiful in my eyes is very often forgotten. Perhaps some people don't find it particularly noteworthy because it's an instrumental piece. But I and a lot of people who were also in Wacken were thrilled by this song. On the one hand, Troy Donockley can prove his class as a multi-instrumentalist and on the other hand, the song has a very special and unique drive. I would be very happy if you would also check out this song, ' Last of the Wilds''. As you could see, even as a non-metal head (like I am) you don't have to be afraid of Nightwish's heavier songs - they still sound like good music. Marko is in his 50s, he was a Rockstar for 20 years before he joined Nightwish. His previous band was Tarot. Which happens to be one of his current Bands. Also Northern Kings and his own Marco hietala Band. Check them out.

Like many times before, I say this: This song is Like a Coffee with Red Bull... On Steroids 🤘❤‍🔥🤘. The “scream” at the end is called a glissando, going from low to high and back, for classically trained singers this is an exercise to warm up the vocal cords, so Floor will do this probably every day before breakfast NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘

@@DarrellW_UK Yes, she had her hair cut, she had to do this because of the chemotherapy she had for her breast cancer in October 2022. Fortunately, she is now completely recoverd and cancer-free. I believe she had hair extensions put in after her recovery, not sure.......But as we al know her........"Floor is Back"!!!!

This was Floor's first concert as a band member, it had not been announced until the release of their album in November, so the crowd didn’t know it, but she had total command of 82k people. Beautiful thing to watch. We all love Emppu & his rocking purple guitar! The songs only get better, Tuomas is a genius. Try Song of Myself!! Gr8 reaction. Heartbreaking we in America have been denied this awsome music, for the formula!

Floor lives to sing in front of an audience. While everyone is visibly exhausted after a concert, she looks as if she has finished her warm-up singing and the concert can now begin. That's why she was so disappointed that there won't be a tour for the new album. A few months before this concert she had agreed to become the third singer. It will only become public with the release of the Wacken DVD. Tuomas said during this time that Floor had come home. Floor says about the band that they had five new brothers. You can feel that. Floor was already into symphonic metal before Nightwish, also as a songwriter. When Tuomas and Floor got together it was clear what was going to happen. The song was mainly played on the first tour with Anette. Then only again when Floor finished the Imaginaerum tour as a temporary. It was rarely played on the following tour in 2015/16 and was probably dropped from the playlist.

Nightwish is different, so you definitely appreciate and even "hear" them differently the more you listen to them, as you adjust to what they bring to the table. Although all their songs sound different, there is still a "Nightwish sound" that is a bit overwhelming when you're not used to it. So many great songs in this concert alone. I'm sure your "favorite" will continue to change. Wait till you see "Song of Myself" from this show!

Every song from this 2013 Concert is worth reacting to. The concert is a Best Of Nightwish up to that point in time. I appreciated that you noted that Floor was not yet a member of the band during this concert. This concert cemented her inclusion, and should be viewed in its entirety simply for its historical significance (and I've seen a LOT of concerts in my 69 years; this is a historic concert). Since you liked this one I'm sure you'll love "Song of Myself" from this concert.... just do them all; and then proceed to the 2015 concerts! LOL.

From smiles all the way to pure joy on the faces takes me back to my first time listening to this incredible band. Every new song would bring amazement and a great big smile on my face. I grew up on Cream, Jethro Tull, Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Doobie Brothers, Allman Brothers, Beatles, Rolling Stones. Nightwish is the best music to hit my ears in 30+ years. Jenna, You are heading down the right track on your travels with this generational band. Pick any of the 15 tracks from Wacken 2013, then you are ready for Poet and the Pendulum, Shoemaker, Yours is an Empty Hope and the grand finale, The Greatest Show on Earth. Nightwish is taking a hiatus from touring. We don't know how long but my guess is they will be back by 2025. Marko left Nightwish a couple of years ago for mental health recuperation. Though he seems happier being able to do want he wants when he wants, I believe he can never capture the feeling of walking down the long ramp after the Greatest Show on Earth performance at Tampere. Watch it and him closely when you get to that song. He has reached Valhalla but he doesn't know it. Maybe he will realize it when he reunites in some form with Nightwish in a few years.

Nightwish is a great entrance to metal music. The whole is much greater than the sum of the parts with this band - very difficult to achieve with harder music. Power metal, like Dragon Force, would be the next step I think because, imo, there are really only a few good symphonic type metal bands. Dream Theater might be worth checking out.

What next? For contrast…. ‘Dead Boys Poem’ Tuomas wrote it when he was barely past the age of 20. Talks of the loneliness of a young boy, who turns to his music for …..love? (Possibly autobiographical, though Tuomas seems to have had a supportive loving family throughout his childhood) Box of Tissues Required. 😢 ♥️
