I watch an interview with the drummer they have now. He was saying how Jukka had really odd beats and before he did his first concert with Nightwish, he said "I have to get this right, no excuses". Is as simple as this: The songs Tuomas wrote for Tarja suits Tarjas voice . the songs Tuomas wrote for Anette suits Anettes voice and the songs Tuomas wrote for Floor will suit her voice as well and thats it. It is incredible that floor sings this well Tarjas songs. Anette couldn't do that. Which voice you like better doesnt make Nightwish good or bad. We need to apreeciate every Nightwish era as they are beautiful in their own way.

Cayetano Sanchez I agree. It occurs to me that Tarja should be able to do all the original songs much better than the other two and with ease since they were written for her vocals. As far as Anette goes, the theory holds true. However, Floor has shown that she can match, and even surpass, Tarja on some songs. Any who doubt Floors abilities should consider that. All the songs the Tarja fans foam at the mouth over were written for her. She should have a huge advantage over the other two, but it hasn't turned out that way. Hey, I'd be curious to see if Tarja could do as well with Weak Fantasy or Yours is an Empty Hope.

I have incredible respect for Tarja and Annette for what they did while working with Nightwish and their various solo efforts as well. Both are good at what they do without question. But... Floor Jansen... well let's just say that every once in awhile the human race is blessed with someone that is in a class all their own. I wholeheartedly agree. I've been listening to Nightwish for years and I love their work unconditionally. I feel sorry for the people who keep hate in their hearts for something they love. If someone hates the way Nightwish has changed, they should listen to "Pan" from Human :||: Nature, as it sounds like it came from Wishmaster. "Shoemaker" is also a brilliant song and shows how much the band has grown and thrived, not just with Floor, but over the years. Short version: Nightwish has always been good, and no matter who is singing, there's no need for divisions.

I wasn't even referring to the voices, I was referring to the whole arrangement, at least one octave lower than the original. But don't get me wrong. Singing one octave lower doesn't mean that Floor sang better or worse than Tarja. Each sing where they are more comfortable. But if you're doubtful of each one's capabilities Tarja filled the Hartwall Arena (16k crowd) with the best cover ever of "The Phantom of the Opera", while Floor struggled to do the same cover, in a Dutch talent show with less than 1k in the audience. Both were using microphones so that's not even an excuse 😉

Can we forget the singer for damn second and appreciate how good the band is. I mean they are the ones making the sound that we think of when we think of "nightwish". That's what Tuomas said: "Floor has such a versatile voice, she can do the clean stuff, operatic stuff. Though I don't think we'll go back to the operatic vocals, maybe occasionally. There's also the growling and the pop sounds, so endless possibilities". Simply why she doesn't use it. Maybe it's obvious that's because of him, who doesn't want to go back in their early days and copy Tarja's heavy operatic style. Floor can bring heaviness without using any vibratos and without being anyone's copycat. Thanks to her we got the band third original style. Her choices are not drastic, as Tuomas owns the band and he knows it better, how to renew the band's original sound. Though her operatic abilities are really impressive.

Floor is awesome! Her chest voice is to die for. She made NW sounds more rock and hard compare time with Tarja - more symphonic and operatic. Anette is good in Imaginaerum to be honest. I can say thay the transition from Tarja to Anette and to Floor is simply beaitiful. Listen to the whole discography from Angels Fall First to this live show and we can see that every singers gave all out and they are to be respected fully. They together define what NW is now. Nah Anette had her style that was pretty much compatible with plenty of the songs in Imaginaerium and Dark Passion Play... You've got 3 different stories of symphonic metal in one band, that makes it really rich in terms of content. First, the powerful queen. Then, the mischievous princess, and finally, the passionate warrior. Anette's attitude and voice inside songs like Storytime or Escapist remark this... It's difficult to explain but even a slight touch of immaturity (and even tongue-in-cheek) in her songs (in comparison to Tarja and Floor) makes her pretty original and special in the history of Nightwish.

Please people, Tarja never coming back. I'm sure many of you would like to do it, or find a voice almost equal to that of Tarja, but Tuomas did not want a voice like Tarja. So with the departure of her, he was looking for something different. Anette was too drastic change for the taste of people, but I think Floor has been the best option. She can reach Tarja notes, but that is not the aim of the new Nightwish. So if one day she came out of Nightwish, it's will probably to continue looking for a different voice of Tarja.

I'm liking her more and more. Sure Tarja has a much higher range and after all, the song was structured around her. But Holy crap I'm blown back just by the sheer power of her voice, It's no holds barred and the stamina of it is absolutely astronomical. Floor and the rest of the band made it their own, and you can tell every one of them is absolutely going nuts up there and having fun from start to finish. Guys, Tarja's gone. She's not coming back, and if you're going to sit there and be so critical of the fact that she doesn't sound like "Tarja" on a song that wasn't even written for her and then she absolutely rocked it on stage better than I've ever seen Tarja do it just from emotion then you're delusional and you need to move on.

+Dave Mason That's funny what you are saying, because Floor sings This song, plus Sleeping Sun, plus Stargazers in LOWER Keys than Tarja's versions... Not to mention the last note on Phantom of the Opera, that Floor doesn't reach as high as Tarja. Anyways, Floor has got other Great qualities that maybe Tarja doesn't, But Higher registers is for sure Not one of those qualities... Tarja's high registers are Higher and with a fuller supported classical tone... I didn't want to compare, because I Love Both of them but your comment just made me do it! Sorry! ;)

+bella Italia Floor range is more higher than Tarja! Floor voice is more lower even be a soprano and her high notes is very higher! Check After Forever songs and you will can see that!

What they mean is floor is taller than Tarja. Therefore she higher physically. Cause that the only way she could ever be higher than Tarja. Most men be taller than women.

+bella Italia Hate to be the one to break it to you, but Tarja's note in Phantom is an E6 and Floor's highest recorded note is an F6. Nice try though. You should have looked it up first.
