The album is an absolute masterpiece is I just know it's soon going to become my favourite album. Am I the only one who cries with Lanternlight?

Here is my take: Yesterwynde: This album is like an old concept album by Pink Floyd, you might take the time to listen to it from the first song all thru to the last one. After about 50 times now it grew on me up to the 5 best albums I own - and I am 64 now and have about 8000 records. The last song -Lanternlight- is my personal song of the year 2024 by far. It is very, VERY different but exactly that is the reason. For me Nightwish has evolved to one of those rare bands, that create art without any consideration to what anybody expected or to say it the short way: Nightwish does Nightwish things. And I predict this record will be recognized in decades, just like Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the moon. Some records last forever. Greetings from Germany

Bits of Floors own solo album and "Northward" style singing! Cinematic drama, doom and gloom, heavy, uplifting, then folky campfire, lullaby. They definitely do flow from song to song. From "Lucy" to the Moon. Tuomas déjà vu themes. Loads of "Easter Eggs"! “A Mariner under a sky Moonlit” [GLS?] [The Islander?] A "Siren"? “A few decades” [Endlessness?] “A one-man crew for a one-way trip” [The Islander?] (A painter, on the shore). [Storytime, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean?] Where the cliff greets the sea... [Élan?] "Not Waving but Drowning" is a poem by Stevie Smith. More Metal, old skool! The spelling to amuse the Americans, Cay, then Quay. “Jokers, jesters” [Raving harlequins, gigantic toys?] "Bring Me to Life"! [For the Reactors!] “Dancing, in the daylight” [Dancing in the dark?] Never Ending Story? Did you notice the sail lining up with the clouds, forming a Twister? Then it's repeated, in case you missed it! Those smiles and grins! Is it building? Ominous horns “Raining ash” [Pompeii?] "An island of past wrecks"; The Antikythera mechanism (the next track). “Endless sundown” [Sleeping Sun?] “Meadows” [Of Heaven?] "Mad despair!” [Scaretale!] "Lords of a single fly" [Lord of the Flies, William Golding] Film scores (Tuomas and Floor both like the music of Hans Zimmer). “Saaaaail and Seeeeek!” As John Wick once said: “Yeah, I think I'm back!" That was crunchy and chunky... Is it over? "Titanic" vibes from Troy, letting his Uilleann pipes speak across the centuries. Lantern Light: “I am the snow on your palm” [Storytime?] “I am the secret stream” [Sagan, Shudder Before The Beautiful, Endlessness?] “Moss beneath your feet” [My Walden?] “I am you who climbed off of my back” [Our Decades in the Sun?] “Petrichor” (with a hint of green) [The smell of fresh rain on grass, Last Ride Of The Day, Song of Myself?] “Timeless” (with a hint of a smile) [Perfume of the Timeless?] “To the meadows I go” [Meadows of Heaven?]

As others have said, Marco left the band a couple years ago (shortly after Human Nature was released). He wrote a pretty lengthy message explaining his reasons but it was basically for his mental and physical health due to the strenuous demands associated with working in such a huge band. Specifically, due to their size Nightwish works with a variety of different managers and companies (to manage things like tours, merch, etc.) and he had issues with the way things were being run. He took a year away from music to focus on his health and then returned to making music on his own. Recently, he rekindled a friendship with Tarja and they have been touring together and it seems like they’ve been having a lot of fun from the videos I’ve seen. In addition to their solo material, they’ve been performing a bunch of NW songs from Century Child and Once.

The album depicts the ideias and the life of a person trough life, starts srtong and with life ready to meet new people and full of hope and future...ends with "us" becoming a laternilight, a beacon of hope for the still leaving, the end of time has you said!
