Just for yourselves, you should watch the Tampere version of this song. Although the sound is a bit clearer in this one, at Tampere Floor is standing on a long catwalk by herself singing to 20,000+ people and truly looks every bit the Goddess she is. Stunning.

Sleeping Sun was launched on 11th of August 1999, the same day with the solar eclipse which occurred in part of Europe and Asia that year. Tarja performance in End of an Era concert is gorgeous too! There is also a video of the song where Tarja looks like a Viking princess and the guys fight in a battle, it's very cool. And your new logo is beautiful!

I can listen to this song on a continual loop, and not get tired of it! Tarja's version is pretty cool...the official music video is set in the midst of an all out battle scene from the Crusades, back nearly 1000 years ago! Really a very unique music video!

Tarja's version is in my oppinion one of the rear cases, which is actually better than Floors. This just suits better for her operatic voice, but Floor beats her pretty much in every other song by her amazing dynamic range and versatility.

I think this is Buenos Aries. They love Nightwish and Floor in Argentina! Also in Tampere, her parents and related family were there. Floor was very nervous in front of her family b/c she had to walk down that long catwalk but she pulled it off!

Hoping you actually watch the original version of the song performed by Tarja. She did two separate music videos of this song including one where Marco plays a Viking, Tuomas a Crusader, Jukka a Knight and Empuu a fighter and Tarja walks in a white robe like a druidess. In the other video, Tarja is in a red dress. She also performed this at her last concert - End of an Era. While I like Floor's performance, I think this is one of Tarja's songs that she owns and makes unique. Digging the new logo and intro also. Keep up the good work. Hello from the USA. 👋

Floor is my favorite Nightwish vocalist and I love her version but it's very important to listen to the very first Tarja version of this song from 1999 (the one with the cheesy video in the fields not the one with the knights). Actually, this is not her best performance of the song. It's being done a bit slower than normal to give her vocals a rest. At least, this is what I've read about the timing of the song. But there are superior versions done by the Goddess Floor.

I don't say this often, but for this song, Tarja's version and voice works better for me. "Sleeping sun" is simply written for operatic voice, which Floor have, but for some reason doesn't use it for this song.

I was looking in your list of reactions and I noticed you guys never did a reaction on "7 days to the wolves". Please do this one. You won't regret. Well, obviously. When would you ever regret listening to Nightwish? Take the live performance from Wembley 2015. A song that keeps on building and building, where Tuomas and Floor fight out in a fearsome windmill battle and at the end Floor releases the wolf inside her. Gotta see that one!

I love Floor's talent and abilities. There are very few who can match her vocal wonders and miracles. That being said, I very strongly suggest you listen to Tarja's version of this song. This is one of the few songs that, in my opinion, was best sung by Tarja. Toumas has a singular talent for writing songs that are based upon the singer's talents and abilities. Sleeping Sun, Deep Silent Complete, and Dead Boy's Poem are, in my opinion, still best sung by Tarja.
