For those of y’all who have no idea why this move is so hard I’ll give you a breakdown. The EWGF (Electric Wind God Fist) is a great move. It’s safe on block, has a quicker recovery than a God Fist, Additionally Electrics launch on hit giving fat combos. So what’s the catch? Electrics are a just frame move. You have to input the DF and 2 on the same frame or the Electric becomes a God Fist which is not safe on block. It is easily one of the hardest moves in Tekken if not fighting games as a whole. Electrics are required to play Mishima characters at the highest level. Also unlike the Shoryuken which shares its input motion with the EWGF there is no shortcut to do a EWGF. So if you want to do one you have two options: 1. Get Gud 2. Buy the Fighting Commander Octa and body fools

@DKUmaro3 жыл бұрын
For many tournament players, it seems, the right controller is the one where it is needlessly hard to perform moves and it should always take more time for new players to master them instead of making them more comfortable on a controller (ease the pain of long training hours) and easier to perform. Button mapping doesn't lower the amount of buttons needed to press, they make the buttons easier to perform in sequence by moving them to a different position. One could argue that remapping the standard control scheme for starcraft is cheating because the commands aren't all over the place now and way easier to reach.
@rpgtimefire2 жыл бұрын
Button mapoing def powers what you have to press. Esp if you play games where you have to press two buttons at once or buffer in inputs.
@JorgeHighwind3 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, the Tekken World Tour rules prevented players from having two different inputs for directions, which makes this controller and Hitbox' Cross|Up impossible to exploit. In ranked though? You can do whatever you want. Although I think developers should force players to choose between the d-pad and the left stick when customizing controls. Tekken for some reason lets you choose one, the other, or both at the same time. Other games just read both and don't care about your controller layout

Hi, Tekken 7 allows you to remap absolutely any controller you use like this inside the game without the need for additional software, just check options and controller settings, it is possible to make any button as any input you want (except for ps button on ps4 controllers) Also this doesn't really simplify EWGF like everyone's thinking, sure it makes input more precise and clean, but what makes this move actually hard is doing it with proper timing of neutral between forward input and down down forward 2 on the same frame. Since you're familiar with fighting games, you should know that punishing certain frames with inputs like this can be hard, you can try it out yourself, record Jack's df2 into holding B for block, the move is -14, 14 frames is the fastest input for ewgf for all mishima characters, with kazuya being an exception, he can do it in 13f. Try punishing that move, regardless if you have remaped controller or not, it doesn't really simplify it to the point, where it would make a huge difference. Awesome review of this controller btw, tho i wish i could see the insides of it as well, anyway great content dude, keep it up :)

On the 8bitdo pro 2 you can just record the input chain to a macro, then assign the macro to one button, such as a paddle. So now I can double quarter circle forward + ABK with one paddle press, no problem. Take that, Soulcalibur V. I picked a low-cost fighting stick (PDP Xbox 360 versus) for my six-button pad. The switches are super responsive. Downside is no double analog sticks so no good with Rivals of Aether. BTW my old original chonky Xbox controller has dual analogs, a dpad, and six buttons on the face. A simple Xbox controller to USB adapter lets me use it on modern systems.

Funny. I decided to load up Tekken yesterday for a little bit myself. I tend to stick to 2D fighters. Just wanted to work on a couple things since I don’t play it much. I didn’t feel like using my stick so I used my Raion. Somehow I got the touchpad to start acting like a D-Pad. I didn’t even know it could do that. Lmao so I was trying to KBD with it. 😂😂 Then the touch pad all of a sudden stopped acting like a dpad for some reason. That’s good to see that we’re getting more controllers with buttons like that. Edit: because of my recent discovery with the touch pad I decided to mess around with the configuration of the controller on Steam. When I used to play MK11 and do the towers, one thing that pissed me off was that I couldn’t call assists on my controller/fight stick because of no analog stick. The only way an assist works is to flick the right stick in a specific direction. I had no idea I could map my touchpad to do this. Now I’m curious to see if the razer panthera can do something similar. I think the touch pads might me a tad different though.
