Elira was right on the money with Grusha's backstory. If you check the map, there is a short blurb for all gym leaders, Team Star bosses, and Titan pokemon that you haven't defeated yet, and there is also a magazine on Uva Academy's bookshelves that tells more about his days as a professional snowboarder. It's actually kinda sad, because it sounded like he was so full of confidence before his accident. When I battled him, I was amused at how angsty he was. Larry and Iono are probably the most popular SV gym leaders, but I think Grusha is really underrated.

Wholly agree. During Geeta’s interview at the end, I definitely picked Grusha for biggest impact.

i think it would have hit a little harder if he wore darker colours, or if he had stronger facial expressions. as it is it’s kinda effective, but he looks “meh” about it while the lines suggest otherwise. maybe with voice it would be different, i dunno.
