@@ZKP314 "mascarada" is Spanish for "masquerade". It's based on a typical costume for a masquerade ball, which is also where P5 gets its thing from. This is coincidence, it's not likely they based it on Persona, they just both drew inspiration from the same source

That's what I've been referring to the 2nd stage of most/all starters, their awkward teens/adolescence pretty much since Gen 1. It remains accurate to this day, and many tend to be conventionally unappealing, with a few exceptions (Floragato being the latest example of that).

For those who don't know the initials are based on three countries that both spain and Portugal had colonized like fuecoco evolution is based on mexico, sprigatito evoltuions is based on phillipines (btw France almost colonized them If im not mistake until spain but his foot standing up) and finally quaxly evolution is based on my country Brazil

These days I remove a lot of points from a Starter for becoming humanoid, and give bonus points for remaining quadrapedal- or at least remaining animalistic like Charizard, Blastoise, Swampert, ect. I'm just glad Skeledirge looks cool.
