Wording is very important in yugioh. Thats why kraken worked because it doesn't say "destroy" colossus can't do anything about it but it would be able to stop tiger. They basically do the same thing but its worded differently. Even though They accomplish the same exact thing the game sees it as 2 completely different effects .Same thing with cards like dark hole and raikegki not saying target.

I'm going to quote an analogy I once read from someone explaining "Destroy" vs "Send to GY": "Think of getting 'destroyed' as getting all the bones in your body broken, and think of 'send to the GY' as getting sent to the hospital. If all the bones in your body are broken, you go to the hospital. However, you can still go to the hospital without having all of your bones get broken." I think it's a really clever explanation to help newcomers to Yugioh grasp the concept.
@tempestgreen11252 жыл бұрын
I think a simpler way to explain it is sending cards to the deck. Obviously this shouldn’t trigger destruction effects. Same with sending to your hand, it wouldn’t destroy that card. Sending to the graveyard is the same concept but instead of your deck the card enters hell

Every deck is decent if you really focus on one strategy You could just make multiple accounts first to try out different things, learn every summoning mechanic with their most dedicated archetypes. You really don't need to read everything, just read the cards that you see others with a similar deck use and your own I stopped when links came out, im honestly not much better than you but i guess i found the decks i am most comfortable with (Xyz spam)

It's really great if you OTK going second, but if your opponent manages to survive the ressource management is harder. That being said I have a great success rate with it without using any of the "card staples" every meta deck is playing, it has a very high skill ceil (that separates a decent board from an optimal one) but it is rewarding 😁

While it's amazing to watch, chat telling her to play something she's not familiar with and Rosemi trying to get backseated is kinda annoying to see, as a player myself. - First: backseating in a turn-based strategy game gives you too much advantage I'd say it's down right cheating, it's like playing chess at 1500 elo and have a 2000 player telling you what moves to make. - Second: this is gonna be super annoying in her opponent's PoV. One of the biggest criticism this game has is that the timer is ridiculously long, 8 minutes per turn + 3 minutes increment is a LOT of time for an online match. The game ended at turn 8 which means Rosemi had like 8+3+3+3 = 17 minutes for her turns alone. And she's not even pulling combos just doing like 5 actions that should have took like at most 1 minute to do. In fact people DO actually time stall as an underhanded way to just hope their opponent gets bored and surrenders, which happened to me personally, probably why her opponent surrendered in this clip as well. I know she wants content and interaction with chat, but this is just a horrible game to do so. The time you spend trying to get backseated is the time your opponent waste staring at the screen doing nothing. This is fine for friendlies, not during ladder matches. Also doesn't help that she complained when someone pulls a long combo (the maxx C clip) but then she herself also stalls horribly during her own turns.
@drothicyaaresh69152 жыл бұрын
Yugioh is an extremely obtuse game for beginners, I backseat my friends in strategy games when they need it so they can learn. You don't learn a game like yugioh by just slamming your head against the wall getting frustrated, you get help. Beginners clearly need the time with how complex boardstates get.

And don't tell me that what you say is wrong and that just because she is competent she won't need help, because in the video you see that she IS ASKING FOR HELP TO USE THE DECK because she doesn't know what the 10,000 cards exactly do in the game, just chill man
@saito8532 жыл бұрын
@@oxob3333 Go watch the vod, stalling like that is extremely toxic to the other player. You have like 10 different ways to practice a new deck, jumping straight into ranked against a human player isn't one of them. I would say chat is partially at fault for making her play something she's not comfortable with in the first place. Also try put yourself in the match, imagine you're just trying to play the game and your opponent activates Poly, then spend 1 minute selecting the materials, then another 2 minutes picking what monster to fusion summon, then spend another 2 minutes trying to figure out if they should go with attack or defense position. That whole sequence of her summoning Kraken should take less than 10 seconds, if you're indecisive then maybe 1 minute give or take. Stalling is very disrespectful, and the other player disconnecting at the end is just a big ass red flag that tells me they were like "Fuck you I'm not sitting through this bullshit".
@wakipai3D2 жыл бұрын
The argument "its a very complicated game and hard to understand" doesn't really work. While yes it is complicated, it's as complicated as anything else And you can understand it just by playing the game and READING THE CARDS. And yes it is extremely annoying that your opponent takes 5 minutes on their turn just for them to normal summon and set a spell Oh and going on ranked with a deck you have no idea how to use is probably not a good idea specially with chat
