*He's still cheating on Spelltable...I literally played against him yesterday. He has Korvold and a different user name but his voice-hand combo was unmistakable.* Edit: For clarity, he had Korvold and 3 cards in hand after drawing (I asked), Korvold was bounced at his upkeep. He had 5 lands and a Mana Crypt up. He played a land, cast Korvold, player 3 cast a Mana Drain, he responded by hard casting a Deflecting Swat, which resolved. He then cast Dockside Extortionist and should have had zero cards in hand. I responded with Delay, and he responded with Veil of Summer. I instantly called him out for cheating and after a brief argument he closed the room. Edit 2: I think most people have misunderstood where he cheated and where the argument started, he had insufficient mana to cast his last two cards, even after sacing a perm and drawing with Korvold. He was 2 mana short of casting Dockside and Veil of Summer together. I believe he meant to cast Veil of Summer instead of Deflecting Swat but he misplayed and then couldn't correct even through cheating.

He then “shuffled” while carefully watching as he moved cards except for the very top card and then didn’t present his deck to anyone for a cut and put it as far away from the other 3 of us as possible on his playmat (it was a pick-up game at the LGS, so I normally don’t care to cut decks in casual games and did not cut before starting this one). @@casteanpreswyn7528 And you can use it as a coaching experience with said new players if it continues to be a problem, as opposed to this guy, who made it blatantly obvious what he was up to.

4:17 reminds me of when I was showing magic to my brother for the first time and I threw a Sol ring on top without looking at any of the other cards so he could have fun playing as many cards as possible…than there weren’t any lands

Why people play if they going to cheat? What is the satisfaction of winning with cheating

Make no mistake, if an mtg player is consistently getting top 32 in every major event they attend or have a win rate of 65% or more, they're cheating. You nailed it that webcam magic is just catching them than in-person magic.

Just standardize the rules for shuffling. Idk why we keep letting the players do whatever they want in this part of the game, when it’s far and away the biggest way people cheat.

I’m a big believer that if your hands leave the screen, they need to return to the screen like casino dealers, proving there is nothing in their hands

Webcam MTG always felt a little fishy to me, and I would have a hard time playing that format simply for not being able to clearly see what cards are in front of the opponents. This reminds me of playing a recent commander 4-way with two randos at our LGS. They knew each other a played together a lot, and you could tell that they knew how each others' decks operated. They had the horrible habit of playing a card and not having the courtesy of announcing what it is/what it does, so we had to continually ask "what does that card do?" The one guy played some card (don't remember the name) that said each player could only untap one nonland permanent each turn, or something very similar. Then he proceeded to somehow get infinite mana in a tap/untap combo that shouldn't have been possible based on his own card he played earlier. Didn't really realize this until I thought back on it later, and this is why I rarely play with randos.

1080p high bit rate streams should be mandatory and your deck should never leave the frame.

Imagining brewing an entire commander deck just to cheat for the same combo every time that you play. This man is a waste of space.

I have never seen someone shuffle like that, not even cheaters

If you can ever see the face of any card you're shuffling you're not shuffling right. At this point he's basically flipping through his deck and choosing cards.

Why play the game if you're going to cheat? Cheating to win is never fun!

The funny thing is I used to shuffle how that guy was in the first part. But I am grabbing the sections that are not being shuffled and shuffling it to the middle, mostly because my hands are small and shuffling 99 cards is tough. XD Now I just split the deck in half then shuffle each half, and finally "attempt" to shuffle the halves back together.

I quit MTG because of shuffle cheaters and this was back during Ice Age. My opponents would jesters cap and shuffle stack my deck. I'm amazed that this cheating still exists.

I love playing on spelltable but fuckin everyone cheats. its insane that EVERY game theres 1 or 2 people that get the Sol Ring Signet combo, or Crypt lotus commander, or whatever. its just frustrating.

Everytime I shuffle my cards, I do a quick shuffle, cut my deck like 6-8 times if my opponent doesn’t cut for me, then shuffle again.

It seems that when I play, I shuffle the deck in completely opposite way as Sean. I play Kozilek, and I want to have a mana boulder in my hand on turn 3 (Sisay's Ring, Thran Dynamo, Hedron Archive), I have like 8 of them to play Kozilek really quickly. But I never get them neither in my starting hand nor on topdeck. If only there was sideboard in commander...

The only disagreement I have about in person vs webcam cheating is you don't have a judge to check somebodies lap/deck for marked/tampered cards etc. since they are at home. I feel like it would be easier to come up with a clever way of cheating that would not get you caught.
