Nike Air Flight 89 | Team Red | Review & On Feet

My thoughts on a very surprising pair of Nike Air Flight 89s.

In my opinion, the Air Flight '89 screams nostalgia and if your an old head like myself the Air Flight '89's are absolute fire. However, as you mentioned the quality usually isn't all that great with the flight 89's but these I had to cop. Soon as I saw these online I took a double take because there was actual leather on these!! Nike did a hell of a good job with these!! The outsole mold of retro flight '89's are slightly different than the mold used on the actual Air Jordan 4's. Call me crazy but the outsole is shaped slightly different than the Jordan 4's. Still, these air flight 89's are awesome and it's about time we got some descent materials for this particular shoe! Great vid man!

Just ordered a pair of these in the UK. Not cheap at £80, but still a considerable discount. The thickness of the tongue and and the padding around the top of the rear is giving me 80's old school goosebumps.

The other funny thing about the Air Flight 89's is that this shoe came out before the Air Jordan 4 so in a way the Air Jordan 4 is a takedown of the air flight 89's....well if you count the air flight 89's coming out before the Jordan 4 as a qualifier that is. I have ZERO complaints about these 89's and I love the colorway because they give off that maroon 6 vibe and the OG Nike Air FORCE STS maroon and smoke grey colorway from 1989 as well. Of which were my very first pair of Nike Air sneakers. I tripled up on these team red 89's because they are going for practically nothing compared to other major retro releases from Nike/JB.

Really glad there's a decent jordan 4 alternative out there. There's alternatives to almost every hype sneaker but the 4s. Cant afford high 1's? Get lows or mids. Can't afford 3's? Get the 312's. Can't afford 11s? Get the IE models. Something about that 4 midsole is just so amazing. You could put it on any shoe and it would be a game changer. I'd argue Jordan 4s are the most coveted Jordan model ever. Jordan 1, 2, 3, and 5 releases usually brick but whenever a Jordan 4 drops they sell out in minutes and the rest of us are forced to pay crazy resell prices.

I just got these for $38.00 at the outlet mall. They only had one 12 but several size 11. I wear 11.5 usually but got these quickly. Last pair I had was back in ‘92 Olympic Barkley paid $150 back then. I was going for the Olympic Jordan’s back then but changed my mind last minute at that Foot Locker. These are very old school.

I love my 89s , I have 2 pairs and 2 of the air flight lite they aren't as good quality as the 89s though. Great video buddy.

I am that old. I was 12 in 89. I didnt know what jordan 4s were, the first Jordans I got to know were the Grape 5s in white and that was that but the Flight 89s were a thing in school and I wanted a pair but never got em until this pair, my first pair 34 years later. Its OK, women say I look about 30 so I can rock em 😂 I have many pairs of retros now though, 1s 3s 4s 5s 6s 7s 11s 12s 13s & 14s my favourites 😅

So I heard these were supposed to be the Jordan 4s. Jordan wore them and gave feedback to Tinker: need to be more breathable, softer etc. So Tinker went back to the drawing board and came up with what we know now as the Jordan 4s. So these are the precursor to the 4s. I got the true blue 2020 releases and they are garbage but I still rock’em! Wish they would’ve treated them like they did back in The day with tumbled leather but whatever…we can also hope they re-release to their fullest!

Are you crazy. I put these on in red colourway and they looked 🔥 and the comfort was a shock to me. So padded and soft but supportive to walk on was a straight buy! And at £68 with discount code I was well happy! Might pick up another pair at that price as a back up as I'm sure these will come back around in hype soon!

I wouldn’t necessarily suggest it, I went TTS. But if you have a wide foot of if AJ4s kill your pinky toe, you might want to.

They have only remade them because reebok have re done there classics which are better than nike.
