I can't bring myself to try the alpha fly due to the noise alone. I had a guy running behind me for several miles at the Indy marathon and the noise sounded like he was wearing scuba flippers or a giant duck was chasing me down..lol

I don't hate the sound, but yes, you ABSOLUTELY know when you've got a pair of Alphas coming up behind you.

YES DUDE! I run faster when I hear alpha flys around me to get away from the annoying sound. They sound very weirdly mechanical.

While I absolutely know what you mean it quickly isn’t something you notice

I just picked up another pair of the adios pro 3 for equivalent 170 usd. As a university student, I can't justify the cost of the AF3, especially given their durability. The AP3 ticks almost every box

Really interesting and fun video to kick off the new year, no intentions of buying the shoes, but just love myself a Floberg video. I particularly liked the transitions, super nice! 🔥👏

Nice to see your take on these Eric given how many miles you’ve done in them. I like the Alphafly 3 and the clomp sound in a marathon, when loads of people are wearing them (especially the start) is obvious. Doesn’t matter so much in a crowd of them but lone running they sound worse 😂 Like the upper ‘sock’ on the AP3 but they fell a bit bulky so prefer them for half….because the Metaspeed Sky Paris is a fantastic race shoe - lighter, more refined and has that magic ‘disappears on your foot’ feature whilst propelling you and keeping a nice consistent ride/rhythm. Just picked up the Adios Pro 4 which are similar but haven’t tried them yet due to terrible UK weather at the moment. A shoe-off isn’t far away though. You’re right though, just get out and run consistently regardless of what shoes/gear you have as it’ll make the biggest difference by a long way.

My experience with the Adios Pro 3 and Prime x2 has been awesome from the adidas side! AP3 is definitely firmer than Alphafly 3 but the pop is insane once you are moving. My experience With Alphafly V1 was good until I got a massive blood blister on the bottom of my feet where the air zoom pockets are situated. Just got ahold of Adios Pro 4, in which the foam is way softer than Pro 3 and the upper fit on Pro 4 is great (but do half size up as it runs short). Looking forward to using Pro 4 this April marathon!

Good to hear this as I've ordered a pair of the Adios Pro 4 half a size up, looking forward to trying them

Ran my first marathon in the Elite's and thought I loved them just because they were my first race shoe. Tried the Alphafly's during a 10k with the intention of breaking them in for my next marathon... immediately bought another pair of Saucony's

Shame you don’t do more shoe stuff. I appreciate your organic delivery. Shoetubers are all getting too derivative these days.

I ran my first marathon (Seattle) in the electric alpha 3s last December! But I made the mistake of not breaking them in cuz I trained in the prototype alpha 3s so I cramped pretty bad. Same size too, 11.5 cuz I’m a true 11. Might try the elites next 🤔

Ok so I just got my self a pair of alpha fly 3. That might have been a very good decision. Having had some shocking 5ks this year. My average was 23:10. I then proceeded to go 21:11 using them. Yes they are that fast. Only used them for that. Do not use them for anything outside of race day

I wore the Alphafly 3 in Chicago to run 2:47, I liked them but I much rather my original Vaporflys. The hole in the bottom of the alphafly somehow found a large rock on course at Chicago, and stayed lodged in for over 5k, which I didn’t love 🤷🏻♂️ I didn’t want to stop and try and dig it out and waste time, so I don’t love the cut out in the bottom

Watching this on the treadmill whilst it’s -6 outside in Manchester, UK. I also have both these shoes (Eric the influencer strikes again). I think that the Alfaro’s are lower but offer more protection than the Saucony. Really happy with the Saucony up to half marathon but the alphas are my go to marathon shoe, that’s possibly the Kipchoge influence though 😂

I need to start wearing my Alphaflys this year. I planned to use them in a few races and broke my foot and that was that. Ran a few miles in them and liked them, im eager to see how they are long term.

Alphafly 4 is not slated to arrive until 2026, as nike is alternating years of updating the vaporfly and alphafly. Id give Vaporfly 4 a try when it releases this spring. Since you enjoyed how light the Elite V1's were, you should give the Asics Metaspeed Paris series a try if you havent yet, as they are still the lightest non-Evo 1 marathon super shoes out there and the foam i find is also a good mix of soft enough but energetic and aggressive feeling.
@JohnBirtchetSharpe3 сағат бұрын
Two things .. the elite's are tough on toe's (not just you), after one Marathon and 2 halfs in mine I had a couple of black toe nails after. While I have not used the Nike shoes the Asic's metaspeed sky are a match for these shoes but they too have narrow heel which can make it awkward if you have to take your foot off the gas for any reason. (wobbly ).

I really enjoyed the Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 for races but found i got some forefoot pain at marathon distance (absolutely fine for 10k, half mara etc). I am very tempted by the endorphin elite but worried a bit about forefoot protection

Elites destroyed my toenails at true to size. I sized up with no more issues. So you may consider half size up!?
@petermtall6 сағат бұрын
Hello I like your KZbin 👍🏻 I don’t know if you have thought about this but a good tip is to always look at the Japan cm size because that’s the only sizing that is always the same and connected to a real unit. All other sizes is totally useless 😊

Tried the AF3. Apart from the bad processing quality (e.g. wavy insole) they are squeaking with every single step. Combined with the „regular“ noise it reminds me more of a tank. Maybe they should name the shoe AlphaTank.

I've done a marathon in an endorphin pro 2 and an adios pro 3 (between 3 hour and 2h48) and the endorphin pro is very stiff comparatively I've done 4 fulls in the same pair of Adidas and feel like I could do another but don't think I will lol I also got a pair of the puma fast-r nitro and don't feel fast enough to get the most out of them

I would love to try the Saucony Elites but my feet are just too damn wide. The only carbon shoes I’ve been able to wear without maximum toe carnage are the New Balance SuperComp Elites. Does anyone know of any other super shoes that are available in wide (2E) widths? I’ve been searching but have found nothing so far.

I will take whatever fits and whichever shoes is cheaper. It’s tough spending $250+ on a race shoe!!

I really liked the Saucony Endorphin Speed 3. Although it is a bit unstable for me. By wich i mean not enough support direct under foot. (I got a foot injury in that shoe so bit of a love hate relationship.) I like the Saucony Endorphine Speed 4 a bit less. It is more stable but feels less cushioning, heavier and less responsive to me. Now i own the Nike Zoom Fly 6 and i like that one the most. Ticks all the boxes for me. Is there anyone that also has these shoes and can recommend me wich supershoe would fitt me the most?
@yannickm1396Сағат бұрын
Probably the Alphafly 3 now that i watch this video. I like max cushioning.

Alpha Flys are overrated and very annoying. That said, I've never run in any super shoes and have no personal opinion about running in them. I'm sticking with my Newtons, since they work for me...plus Harvey Lewis runs in them.
@atlaswyd_9 сағат бұрын
So they are overrated and annoying but you’ve never worn them? Or any super shoe in that case? Why? Cause it’s loud? Or you can’t afford it?
